Back in the ARMY

I have just read, again, the guidelines as, outlined by Carol, and was transported back 60 years to when I joined Army. (So many do's and don'ts)

I did note that there was no section on 'Humour, Fun', and common sense.

Perhaps indeed we should have two sperate forums, as suggested by one of our number.

One dealing only with our particular 'Condition' relating to our various serious health matters only.

One dealing with the same, but with lots of humour, satire, and fun.

This would enable us to have freedom of choice. Something which is rapidly being eroded by the 'Glumwokes'.

Oh, dear I can feel a censure coming my way.

Keep smiling all.

All the best Ron.

I think I would be sad and it would make things unnecessarily complicated to have 2 separate groups. The question about other items being posted on here comes up every few years. Im a long time member. The overriding belief is that people do not want this format to change. Personally it actually makes me quite cross. Compared to other forums this one is most active and gives sage advice as well as some light relief. I fail to understand why people who don’t like some of the posts can’t just be adult and scroll past the posts they don’t particularly like!!!

I have to agree with Bevvy, if people dont like to read about things other than lungs then please dont read the post. So many people who are trying to police what we can and cannot do in the world at the moment. This site is one of the best and has lots of information and advice for health along with a bit of humour from people who care, lets not spoil it x

I've looked at a couple of other sites on HA and found that without the non-medical or semi-non medical posts on ours they were rather sad ( going on grim.) I wanted to post something frivolous or funny to cheer them up. By semi non medical, I mean the tendency of some folk here to laugh at their problems. What would the 'Glumwokes' make of that?

I appreciate it's not for everyone, but I'm all for it. Laughing at my CLL is my way of coping with it. Horses for courses. (Of course)

Best wishes all.

Ron

What, like a separate forum for pet posts? Haha, that'd go down well

I'm fond of this forum, fond of many of the members too. I'm not fond of some kinds of humour or one or two posters who pick on people however, many like me will just skim over those posts unopened.
