I posted a few weeks ago about my fall in the bathroom breaking several ribs, my shoulder blade , etc, which was nearly 8 weeks ago. I saw a Consultant in the Fracture Clinic 3 weeks ago, he said that the further healing time would be 3 months. He showed me a 3D image of my injuries, WOW. !! now I know why I'm in so much pain.I was worried about getting a chest infection, my Consultant put me on full time antibiotics which I started the day before my fall & so far so good thankfully. ππ
I'm seeing a Physiotherapist & doing the exercises, using my Nebulizer twice a day & using my Spirometer daily. I went to my Breathers group a couple of weeks ago it was lovely to see everyone & have a catch up. I didn't do the exercises I only exercised my mouth ππ. I am back to going weekly now exercising my legs, walking, meeting friends & family.
Just wanted to give an update on my slow road to recovery, thank goodness for the lovely weather, enjoy the Spring weather everyone & thank you for all your kind & thoughtful messages.I
Love Sue ππ

Sounds like things are improving Sue and it is a long road to recovery, but each step is getting you there and thank goodness for a loving hubby with a good sense of humour x
Oh Souielouie, I do sympathise. It seems to take longer for bones to knitwear we're getting older - it used to be six week! Glad your consultant had the forethought to give you the antibiotics, getting an infection with fractured ribs would be awful with coughing plus the risk of them parting. Glad to that youre managing some exercise and that you've retained your great sense of humour! Take care, make sure you get physio for the shoulder when it heals. P
Glad to hear that you are making progress, if only slowly. I admire your determination to get back to normal. Ribs are plaguey things- I remember my husband moaning and groaning when he had cracked one or two. I don't know what he would have been like if he had suffered as much damage as you. xxx
Was that really 8 weeks ago? Doesn't seem that long ago to me, but I expect it's felt like an eternity to you! Glad you are making progress, keep at it brave lady and enjoy the sunshine xx
It's great to hear you're on the mend, albeit slowly. Like you, I have the support of a lovely husband - they definitely have their uses! π€£Seriously, it makes a huge difference, doesn't it, even if they just get you a drink now and again. Here's wishing you continued steady progress. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be dancing on the table before you know it!
