Hello everyone….. can I ask if there is anyone on this forum who has had a single/double lung transplant at the age limit, or above of 65 years?

Mr Bojangles,on the forum,has recently had a dble lung transplant though I'm not sure of his age

I had a double lungTX when I was 54, however I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago at my transplant hospital ( Wythenshaw) and the fella in the next bed had just had double lungs at the age of 66.

Have you been mainly well since your transplant?

Yes, I have been well since my transplant. There has been few bumps along the way but I don't regret the decision to go down the route I took. As your team will tell you, no two persons are the same and transplant is an individual journey. Prior to the operation I was regularly in hospital with infection after infection and on home oxygen full time, basically not enjoying life. Now I go out every morning at first light with my dogs and walk as far as I want. Best wishes.

Hello Injected. I had a single about four years ago. I am now 49 and have been lucky to have few complications. If you have any questions I will be pleased to answer. I know it is a tough decision to make. Best wishes. xx 😊👋

hi I had a single lung transplant in November 22 and my age is 70.5 years
