MOVING HOUSE

We've recently moved house. Not a short distance, but around 500 miles. I was dreading it, thinking the stress and hard work would only make my bronchiectasis worse. I made sure I was stocked up on meds just in case. But we've been at the new house for over a week now. I'm cracking on with the DIY and taking our dog for long walks and I can honestly say this is the best I've felt in about a year. Our terrier even got me running after her on the beach yesterday. The air quality here is about the same as it was where we were before, so it's not down to that. But I'm not complaining, I'm making the most of it. 😀

Sounds as if you’ve made the right move. Glad you’re feeling well and happy. Xxx.

It's all the exercise, carrying boxes, bending, walking around and all of the fresh air on the beach. Keeping your lungs working and loosening the gunk so that you can get rid of it and keep the bugs down. Stay well and have a marvellous time in your new home.

Glad you’re feeling good Cornishman. Living near the beach is wonderful. Enjoy

I’ve just read your profile and agree that no one really understands Bronchiectasis. I’ve been living with Bronchiectasis for 68 years. We didn’t ask for this, we certainly don’t deserve this. But we cope and get on with it. Keep going. Best wishes, Diane 😊

Well this is good news and given me hope as I am faced with similar. Have been looking to buy a house in the country for the fresh air etc etc. And after months of going on looonnnggg drives to see dozens of homes we may have found one. I was really excited. But now faced with the challenge of redecorating, furnishing etc. I feel so stressed and concerned that I won't manage. I hope I feel as positive as you do when it happens but your post is encouraging. 🙋‍♀️🐕

Thinking of you Caspiana and hoping that the house that is right for you appears and that the move goes easily smoothly and without stress.

Thank you Cloudancer. I will keep the city house so it's not so much moving just shifting a bit I think. xx 😅

Good luck. All the redecorating doesn't have to be done all at once. I made that mistake at the last house. We did everything that needed to be done in a couple of months and were left tired out and bored having nothing left to do. 😀

Hi, glad you’re happy in new house. It’s big decision to move so far thankfully you’re enjoying new location etc. Ive had bronchiectasis as long as can remember, part of PCD was born with. Daily Nebulising etc keeps me active, but takes up lot of time and affects what can do. Best regards, Jean

Keep being active. Just read your profile. You don't realise that you are not alone and we all have the same feelings. I have tearful days but then have to pull myself together.

Say hello to the sea from me. We are in the middle of the country and so far from sea air, just diesel pollution!

Bronch is pants to live with but just keep exercising and keep your lungs clear.

I grew up next to the sea and can't be away from it. The view is different every single day. Being able to take our dog to the beach all the time is a bonus.

The air quality may feel the same but am sure it is contributing to your improved health and a move of 500 miles must have a difference. It all sounds like it has been a smooth move for you and am sure as LP says all the bending and lifting adds to your daily exercise. Enjoy your new home x

that must be wonderful on so many levels - maybe we should all get a dig and move to the beach - it’s inspirational!
