I hope you like this picture I took in London with fog over the Thames. I took it with my phone. There are beautiful views in and around London. I will be finishing my Rehab and hope to take my daily excercise diligently.

Lovely photo.I too am in the middle of my rehab sessions and am determined to keep up the exercising as well!

It is going to be hard to keep up the momentum. I wish there were followup sessions using same excercises. I can't find a gym to pace at my level without paying a lung and a leg for it. x

Our PH group recommend that we attend a follow up class at our local leisure centre, specially tailored for COPD sufferers. Unfortunately it went under with the lockdown and has never been restarted. There is a monthly Breathe Easy group but I have never enjoyed that type of thing. I think with regard to carrying on the exercises it starts well but peters out unless you have others to do it with.

Yes I agree. That's the problem. Many of us are isolated and need contact with similar people but there are no resources for that. I have looked at groups locally but none suitable. One walking group I was advised not to join because I need to stop for breath.

Have you thought about chair exercises for seniors.? I do a chair yoga class on zoom and find the exercises very good, also the breathing methods help. See if there are any groups local to you,it's more fun than a gym and you get to be with other like-minded people

Hi Fribox. Thank you for your reply. I am able to do more strenuous excercises than chair excercises. I found some good youtube videos but really want to join a group to get out and improve my motivation. I may have to start one myself ! Great that you do yoga. x

After my pr I was given three months free membership of the gym and saw a specially trained instructor. He designed a programme of exercises for me. He, Darren, was usually on hand when I went to the gym and the rest of the staff were lovely. I didn't like the gym but but persevered till I found yoga and pilates. I checked with the respiratory who had led the pr and he said any exercise was good.

I am really happy that you were given 3 months free gym. I am afraid this area is not so generous. Thanks so much for the kind reply. I will continue my walks . xxx

I'm sorry I assumed it was part of the pr course and nationwide. I continue to be surprised by the differences in care. Re. chair yoga, some of my 'Friday after yoga friends ' also do chair yoga and say it's not easier than regular yoga. (It clashes with my pilates or I would join them!)

Yes there are huge differences in care across the UK. I will certainly consider chair yoga if I see it advertised locally. Thanks for reply. xx
