Hi all I am 6.5 years post single lung transplant and recently found out I am 7 weeks pregnant . I'm super shocked as I was told I would never have another child ( I also have a 13 year old daughter)
And im super worried about how my body is going to cope with this pregnancy. My transplant unit have Been amazing and dont seem fazed at all by this and are doing weekly bloods and so far everything is good but I'm still really worried by this and how I'm going to cope. I'm also homeschooling my daughter so ive added pressure.
Just looking for some reassurance really and if anyone has been through the same .
l can understand your concern but just want to congratulate you on your pregnancy. I’m sure you will be monitored along the way and wish you well for the future. Try and stay calm and hoping all goes well. Xxx🥰❤️
Overall it sounds like good news. Your lung transplant has obviously been accepted by your body and the fact that you are pregnent would indicate that your body is in good working order. Wishing you and your family all the best, Chris.
I knew a guy that used to play cricket with one lung . I reckon if the medics thought there was risk to life they would have advised abortion . Enjoy your pregnancy and I'm sure the 13 year old will be a great help!
Congratulations. If your transplant team think it's all right, then it jolly well ought to be. I'm sure they will give you lots of good advice. Hope you have a nice, peaceful pregnancy. xxx

Congratulations! My nan had a lung removed in about 1948, she fell for her fourth child a few years later, against advice she continued with the pregnancy and had my Aunt six weeks before my parents wedding! She continued to live an extremely happy and active life. My purpose in this ramble is to say that the human body is amazing so if your team have no doubts the decision is yours. I respect whatever decision a women makes in this situation.
Congratulations! The transplant team and antenatal team are going to take extra special care of you as one of their star patients. I'm sure all will go fine xx
Hello there. Many congratulations on your pregnancy. ☺️🥳 What a joy. I am a member of a lung transplant recipient forum and some ladies there have had babies after transplant. In fact a lady just posted a picture of her baby recently. If your hospital are happy and do not see any issue I think you will do fine. Very best wishes to you. xx ❤️
