Hi there, yes I used one for 5 years. Did you not get instruction about how and when to use the Inogen ? If you didn’t then perhaps you would be best to contact your Home oxygen provider for guidance so that you can meet your oxygen requirements and prescription.

Be well.

Hi Currygirl,

I've been using mine for a few months now and get on with it quite well. Had a few problems at the beginning as I was given a faulty charging lead which kept 'blowing' the display on the units. It took several replacements before we realised what the problem was but all sorted now.

I love the fact that I can wear the Inogen in a backpack (bought off Ebay) rather than over one shoulder. I find it much easier and more comfortable to go shopping, walking etc with a backpack rather than with a heavy cylinder slung off my shoulder.

On the down side the Inogen seems to last about 3-4 hours per charge at my flow rate which isn't as much as standard oxygen cylinders which can last 5-7 hours for me. If unused my unit loses it's charge over a few days whereas I can leave an oxygen cylinder untouched for a week without any noticeable loss.

Hope that's a help.

Ooh you are lucky to be given one! I had to buy mine! I’ve had it for 14 months. I’m on 2 litres of oxygen and the battery lasts about 12 hours (a cylinder lasts 3 hours for me). Mine can be recharged via the socket in the car which is useful on long trips. It only delivers oxygen when you breathe in. I’d suggest contacting your oxygen company and ask to be shown how to use it. Good luck!
