That is something that has been discussed with me. I wondered if it would be beneficial. Glad to hear you have seen the benefits.

bend over and if your breathing is restricted its effecting your lungs

I really wish they would do mine but apparently it's not yet big enough. Shame as it's the undoubted cause of my bronchiectasis and, often, asthma.

What was your situation before the op? Can you tell us a bit about how you were deemed suitable for surgery?

Don't worry if you don't want to share that stuff, but it would be interesting to know more about it all.

Meanwhile, fantastic news that you have such a brilliant outcome! Enjoy!

Happy New year to you! Xx Moy

started about the same time i had breathing tests at hospitail 2010 said i had hiatus hernia no sympthons but as the years went by i noticed after a meal my breathing and lung function would b less easy to breath til food digested about couple hours later it would b bit esier but i always had i tite feeling around my lungs even when not eating. Then about 4 years ago food would get bloked and ghir was terrible pains in my guts could not eat til restriction cleared about hour later some time would have to vomit food up and got realy bad last couple years had op in april last year and soon after op i noticed ther was no breathing restriction after eating and the tite feeling i had all the time has disapeard i can breath out quite quick now with no restriction i have had ashma since early 20s but not bad ashma i am 60 now and can go jogging now which b for op was a no no as could hardly breath while i was jogging

any one who has one should get it done mine was 8 cm in to my lung cavity

My last measurement was only 2.5 so although my resp consultant classed it as very large, I can see that yours was much larger and maybe understand better now why they aren't rushing to do mine. However, I think it's counter productive as I believe my lung conditions will never be properly under control until the hernia is fixed. I've lived with it since diagnosed in 1994.

Glad yours has been sorted for you. 👍❤️Xx Moy

My symptoms aren't as bad as yours but I have suffered with really bad reflux for years and lots of it went into my lungs. Last year I was also diagnosed with a corkscrew oesophagus but it was checked again a few months later and had gone back to normal. Used to be sick a lot and could only eat tiny meals for quite a long time but all has settled down at the moment. I will remember what you have said about yours, though, and if I start to get the same symptoms I'll get on to someone about it. Xx Moy

GuytaneThank you! I have been having this conversation for years. Perhaps somebody will stop and think about it. I have always argued my breathing would improve if they would sort my hernia. I will maybe have to get my bossy hat on. I am glad it worked for you. Happy New Year to one and all.
