Does anyone find that they haven't got a good sense of taste? I have not had covid either.

Taste.
do you mean that things taste wrong, or that the taste is weak?
Hi usually after certain medications ie azithromycin or inhaled steroids my taste changes but resumes back to normal later.
Taste is linked to the sense of smell. Do you have a blocked nose and sinuses? Have you always had the problem with taste, or has it got worse over the years? Have you had a knock on the head, as some people lose the sense of taste through that?
There are some of us who are naturally less sensitive to tastes and struggle to identify tastes that are quite obvious to others. That is why I like the licorice/aniseed range of flavours and spicy (not chilli hot) curries.
I lost my sense of smell years ago after a bout of sinusitis which lasted months and it has never returned. I get the off whiff of a smell sometimes but it passes quickly. It could be the same with your taste, have you suffered with this? Perhaps mention it to your gp x
Hi there falcon68, I have had COVID19 but this strange taste sensation in my mouth started after taking Doxatozin for BP . I have taken inhalers since 2008 without a problem but suddenly I have developed this strange reaction. I find its worse in the morning after a long spate of no fluid, warm fluid eases it better than cold. Mouth wash helps . But mine is not the taste its just a constant taste as if your tongue is coated and sometimes it feels quite dry. Maybe try some things first before speaking to the GP. Sucking boiled sweets can sometimes help too. I've tried throat pastels and mints also. But to date I can still taste the flavours of my foods. Good luck with trying to solve the problem , I did wonder if it was to do with the COVID injections too.
I’ve a weak taste too. We often have casseroles with all fresh ingredients, done in the slow cooker with herbs, red wine etc. Husband loves them but I need more taste, more & more garlic! I wonder if it’s pseudomonas? Of course, having thick yellow green gunk on our chests doesn’t help
My taste + smell arent as gd.its disappointing sometimes.cooked meals,I add spice etc so enjoy casseroles but its the little things I notice eg favourite buttery spread - cant even taste it.i frequently have acute sinusitis and have chronic rhinosinusitis,as well as frequent lung infections, antibiotics, steroids etc too.
I don't take steroid tablets , but do take other tablets . The inhalers I take are dry powder so possibly effect the mouth different to aerosols like Ventolin ect which can be used with a spacer. I first noticed the change in mouth following the COVID vaccines So it could even be a mixture of steroid inhalers and injections or as I have had COVID 19 a low element of long Covid symptoms who knows. Lots of people are getting different symptoms since having COVID but very little is being done to check, if you already have other illness.
My sense of taste is unchanged but my sense of smell is SO heightened.
I have had covid for four days and have very little taste. Can someone tell me how long the extreme weakness lasts? I seem to have got over the Covid symptoms apart from being so weak and breathless. How much should I be using oxygen?
I feel I’ve had very little instruction of oxygen usage.
