Water Tablets.

I went to see the doctor,

Cos my ankles were so big.

With massive ankles that size,

I could never do a jig.

She put me on some tablets,

Which my old Mum used to hate.

They tend to make you pee a lot.

When they work you cannot wait.

Before we ever took Mum out

We would take a look at the site.

Establish where the loos were,

And keep them well in sight.

Check she had the money,

In case she had to pay.

And pray that there'd be no one there

Who might get in her way.

When I'm out in my campervan

That doesn't worry me.

Cos I have got a bathroom there

If I ever need to pee.

Lucky you, Don! 👍 Your planning put me in mind of trips out with my Mum, who eventually succumbed to bladder cancer. It led to much hilarity along the way, even guarding a cubicle, or queuing on her behalf until she could make it to the 'venue'. She always said she felt like the Queen - "She never has to queue for the loo either?".

Mum almost had an 'accident' - listening to Billy Connolly rambling on about incontinence knickers......! 🤭

I’ve only just been to pick up my prescription, first tablet tomorrow morning. My PR classes are not gong well. Last week they sent me home ‘unfit or purpose’. Yesterday they would only let me do sitting down exercises and made sure I went to the doctors straight after class by making the appointment there and then. Apart from my fat ankles I don’t feel all that bad.

Oh my golly gosh,I'm so very late in reading your "wee rhyme"(to be read with a Scottish accent) and once again Mr.D,your rhyme and banter with young man skischool ,has me laughing and laughing!!😁. After the morning I've had,it was like being given a magic 💊 pill and I was nicely distracted and laughing out loud! Can I not ask for it to be available on a prescription basis? Wouldn't that just be so good.....better than any CBT !!!

Hi, I'm on water tablets and have the same problems. My district nurse gave some very sound info, wear an elasticated stocking, it helps with the circulation and could even help reduce the swelling. Mind you they are a so & so to put on but worth it.

Brilliant. The nurses ask me if I am on those when my ankles swell up clue to all the steroids I am taking at the time. Luckily they go down again, once the steroids are reduced down to around 10 to 20mg. No pleeese I don't want to take Mummy's tablets........

Which gadget are you using to access the net? iPad? Mac? Windows? It appears to be different depending on the machine, stone-UK is the man to ask. You can't include photos in a reply, you'll have to start a new thread and you've already done that with a photo of yourself. (very nice too!)
