Asthma

Bad everyday in the night and morning, keep waking hunger for air and stop breathing now again but had all lung and chest dcan no damage just a low lung function test but tried all the steriod inhalers im lost what todo next any help????

You could try sleeping in a more upright position, and doing diaphragm breathing exercises to see if either of these help at all.

I don't have Asthma, however, my sister does and she's had problems like you with breathing during the night and morning.

She was referred to a consultant who prescribed Monelukast. She's only being taking it for a couple of weeks but says it is already making a big difference.

So may'be ask your doctor,/asthma clinic about it to see if it's suitable for you to try?

Hi, a shot in the dark here, I suffered from stopping breathing at night and would wake up in a panic, I do not have asthma. I was eventually diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea and use a ventilator when sleeping and sometimes in the day, a NIPV bi-pap, a vast improvement. I also seem to stop breathing when I am concentrating, I have no explanation for this, although when a baby, many of us seem to do this, thankfully we nearly all grow out of it. I was having my sats taken in hospital and they showed 70 %! The nurse asked if I was breathing, I wasn't, as soon as I took a breath the sats improved. In addition I have tracheobronchomalacia which can sometimes interupt my breathing badly. Good luck.
