Humidifiers.
I use a humidifier on both my concentrators and with my ventilator overnight.
I have my concentrator in my en suite as this eliminates the noise and the heat that comes from it. The door is closed and the lead is under the door to plug. Before my bedroom would be too hot xxSheila 💕
What a good idea. I've no en suite but there's enough tubing for it to stand in the spare bedroom. x
Yes it's great, you could put it anywhere theres a plug, if not can plug into extension lead. I also have enough tubing for my nose which takes me through the house . Have to be careful going downstairs not to trip but it's great. Can also go outside into garden. I asked the service man from the oxygen company and he was great giving me the long tube. I dont have to move the concentrator downstairs now. I do have cylinders but never use them. I was offered 2 concentraters when first put on oxygen but declined . Owing to this long cable I got myself off oxygen. I was prescribed it during Lockdown as I wasnt exercising as not going out so my breathlessness increased. I was dropping to 77 when walking around house.
When I had the longer cable I was able to go outside with the oxygen on and walk around my decking. I used to increase my walk daily. At first it was twice around then four times and so on . Eventually I was able to walk around without the oxygen. When I went for 1st hospital assessment it was dropped to 7hrs per day. Second assessment was taken off oxygen and next appointment in 12months.
I do have the concentrator still and if I need it I can use whenever.
I make sure I go out daily to excercise not the Gym or long walks but around the shopping centres stopping when needed and taking my time. It's great to be out and about . xxSheila 💕⚘
I've never felt it to be drying but it certainly gives out a fair bit of heat.
Especially in the winter!
