HAHAHA!!! Made me laugh again Don. I hope no one is lighting a cigar near you !! Puts a new meaning to ULEZ restrictions Keep em coming (not the ducks HAHAHA!
No need for electric bikes, eh Don? Just make all cyclists eat beans for a bit of extra propulsion!! You've been quite quiet, Don, hope all is well with the two of you? xx
I donβt see that as morbid itβs just a natural progression at my age. Itβs about the only thing that one can be certain about these days. Iβm in no hurry to go, but go I eventually will. ππxx
I know π Morbid wasnβt the word I wanted to use really, but I didnβt know what to write ! What you have just written is spot on, but not for me to say! π I do hope you wonβt rush Don, itβs lovely having you around π€ππ€π xx
My husband's Aunt who died in her late 90s would say to anyone who asked how she was, 'Well, I woke up again this morning, so I guess I must be ok.' She always said it with a giggle, but I know that she would have understood your feelings very well, Don.Old age brings with it the certain knowledge that we are not immortal.
On the brighter side, it makes me feel happier spending money these days as I've worked out that my best possible life expectancy (taking aside all my current medical conditions) would be another 30 yrs whilst my husband is looking at 20. But given our medical conditions, we're likely to go quite a bit sooner than that, so although it's not exactly 'spend, spend, spend' we've stopped worrying about the future so much and are making sure we enjoy each day (when we're not at the doctors etc)!
Sometimes 'enjoying each day' simply means having a quiet, relaxing one. Other times, we may enjoy an outing. Since 'lockdown' and 'shielding' even a stroll to the local shop feels like an 'outing'!
Are you getting out at all these days, Don? I know your camper has gone, but do you still have a car? I can't remember. If not, a scooter? I wouldn't be without mine now. The pavements are pretty awful around here and I spend my journey humming, 'Good vibrations...' as I jolt over the bumps, but it's wonderful to have some independence back.
I've been fortunate to get a place on the Pulmonary Rehab, starting today. It takes me 20 mins to get there on my scooter, but I'm really looking forward to the trip (not literally!).
I hope you're still seeing friends and acquaintances, Don. I find that even a quick chat with someone at the shop can brighten my day. We all need human contact - the lock down's proved that, for sure.
I've missed you lately. It's a shame we don't all live near each other. We could have a right good rave up, couldn't we?
Thanks for the giggle Don! When the kids were small, we called the wind 'poofters'!Beans Beans, they're good for the heart....the more you eat, the more you 'poofter'!
