I have no formal diagnosis but a recent chest X ray showed hyperinflated lungs and I am waiting for a spirometry test to see if this is COPD.
However, as well as the breathlessness, I am experiencing a constant 'fullness' in the chest, a bloatedness and my appetite has decreased. I have lost a little weight, but nothing that concerns me.
This 'full' feeling has been going on for some time, and I wondered if it could be due to the hyperinflation.
Thanks

Hi there you've just described me to a t! A chest x ray last year came up hyperinflated lungs but no obvious physical damage. I also have been bloated, get full very quickly and have little or no appetite. Sadly no weight loss, in fact I've put weight on. Breathlessness and chest pressure too. They weren't too concerned about the hyperinflation but from what I've read the extra volume has to find room somewhere and in some cases can rest on other organs. I'm not very big so I haven't much room. Other lung testing showed they were working well. However I still get breathless on exertion and I'm still very very uncomfortable! Just my personal experience.
Hi Patk1 I think its fluid too. However I've quite a few other health things going on that I think are possibly all related and GP is putting a case together for referral to Rheumy. The weight and discomfort are so depressing as I eat so little. Now oh dear I've just gone down with covid so havn't the energy for anything!
