Hi andyput, I'm on he oxygen been on it just over six months, I'm only on 1-1.5 ltrs but I would love to be off it. I sometimes loose my appetite but very rarely and I have lost a little bit of weight but nothing to shout home about. I wouldn't worry a out of but if you are worried please speak to your GP or nurse. I hope this has helped. Have a lovely weekend and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌻🌻
I have emphysema and have had a very poor appetite for years and have lost a lot of weight. I have been on short burst oxygen for 2 years and ambulatory for 18 months but neither affected my appetite. Good idea to mention it at your phone appointment on Monday
I’m on 24/7 oxygen and have been for a few years. Hasn’t affected my weight or suppressed my appetite but recently both have happened. I’ve got very little appetite, lost heaps of weight (I was slim anyway). . I’ve been told it’s probably due to progression of my lung situation. Joy x
Hi andyput. I am on ambulatory oxygen, have been for a few years now. I lost a lot of weight 4 years ago and put it down to the disease progression. I have managed to gain a few pounds since but have not had a problem with my appetite, although can only eat small meals now. As long as you don't lose weight rapidly I wouldn't worry too much but if concerned then ask your Gp or respiratory nurse. Take care xxx
Yr dr may suggest food supplement like fresubin, build up etc If concerned.hope yr able to drink adequately x
Hello Andy. It's hard to know due to individual circumstances but if your lungs are not dispelling air from your lungs effectively, it could be you are retaining making you feel like you have a full stomach much of the time. I had this when I was on oxygen. It is best to talk to your doctor about it. Best wishes,
