The new logo.
Why couldn't you have kept the BLF logo, athsma is a lung condition, and should also come under blf too, it could have the wording All British lung conditions Forum.

Exactly, Trishe! Any name in fact which doesn’t prioritise one lung condition over all others
I agree Hanney theyare all Lung Conditions and should be treated as such, bring back the red balloons.
It didn't need to change. A barmy idea by marketing people with no experience of living with these conditions. A shameful betrayal of all of us.
"A shameful betrayal of all of us" That is exactly how I see it and I want no part of it. I will keep all my stuff with the BLF logo to remind me of the happy times I had here. Don & Puss. xx
I don’t blame you Don. Why get rid of the very positive red balloons full of air. It’s beyond me. I can’t even work out now what the new logo is supposed to represent. Xx
Sticking plasters seem to play a large part in it. I can't believe how badly this whole mess has been handled. It must make people wonder how wisely donations are applied. xx
Hope that doesn't mean you are leaving us Don. We need your humour when you choose to share it more than ever xx
I can't leave having promised many times that I wouldn't because my hundreds of poems would become hidden. I want them to be read and there's no record of them anywhere else. So like my mug, t-shirt, shopping bag, fleece and other stuff with the good old BLF logo they will remain as as a reminder of happier times.
Good, you would be sorely missed. In spite of the dreadful changes I hope the camaraderie, support and escapes from our daily problems through the 'off topic' posts in our forum will long continue.
I've been recycling my old stuff for a while now so t's just a case of going looking for it if anyone wants to instead of me force feeding if again. 😀x
I don't think that it was ever considered force feeding but it is good to be able to look back at your posts xx
It is also potentially devisive. Under the BLF banner we all supported and empathised with each other. No matter what the condition, including asthma. This change could cause resentment at the prioritising of asthma over all of the others, particularly in the public sphere. It is terrible for the future cohesion and mutual support of the group. I could put money on the fact that whoever made this decision does not live with any of the conditions, including asthma. If they did they would understand the importance of equal publicity and education for all conditions. If we can’t rely on our (up to now) well respected, professional charity to know of the equality that we are fighting for, how can we expect governments to be brought to book over it.Administrators and Board Members! They need to ditch the self importance and consult those whom they purport to be supporting!
I agree, they are ALL Lung conditions.
Bang on, Littlepom. Well said. 🙏
Quite agree LP. And I hate when battle metaphors are used to describe health conditions and symptoms - it happens a lot with cancer as well. The visuals are quite astonishing with their weirdly amateur sticking plaster look. Was that what was aimed for? Because if so then a dreadful misjudgement.
I agree Trishe it sounds so much better. Have a good day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌹
You could argue 'Asthma and Lung UK' implies that asthma has nothing to do with lungs!
Yes it does come across that way Don.
I feel that the "rebrand" was dealt with by a marketing agency, when I first saw the site, I had heard of BLF and thought there was a gravitas to the opening page. This new first page, seems to have been done as if they had been asked to do something that would appeal to younger folks. Speaking for myself, if this had been the first page I had seen, with no mention of BLF, I would most probably not have joined, (even though I do have asthma) as does not look very professional. Obviously I am getting too old. I just hope no one leaves, I would miss all the regular avatars.
Yes , still got my red balloon badge …..I certainly don’t want a t shirt or bag with FIGHTING FOR BREATH on it .Imagine drinking your morning coffee from a mug with that on .
I don’t need reminding of my breathlessness ….the red balloon was more uplifting ……forgive the pun .
Debating how to pronounce ALUK
Is it A L - U K
or Aluck
or Al - U K
I think they've left the f out.
W ell I was thinking it sounds like ugh , or uck but yours is so very much better.
The idea that we are fighting for breath is depressing, insulting and condescending. I don't want these people presuming to speak for me. They know nothing of what our lives are like and have decided that they know what is good for us better than we do. They are doing TO us rather than doing FOR us. I put a lot of effort into trying to support and help others and I pay monthly to support. I feel betrayed.
That is too much like common sense.
Thats exactly what I thought x
