I've finally tested negative on a LFT after having COVID for the last 2 weeks. I wondered what others experiences were of Omicron with moderate asthma – I am still coughing and feel like my lungs are really irritated. Keep feeling as if I am getting a chest infection but GP says lungs sound clear. I've been hospitalised a few times in past for pneumonia, so always try to be really careful when my lungs feel rough. I am still knackered as well and having night sweats; if I do anything and need to recover the next day. Any advice welcome.

Recovery from Omicron with asthma
Rest rest and more rest. Also try to eat as healthily as possible.Remember that a negative LFT just means you are no longer infectious. Although after 10 days that is view anyway. It doesn’t mean you can’t be still poorly! Sounds like you still have some way to become better so be kind to yourself and give yourself time to recover.
As you've had pneumonia you'll know that it takes quite a while to recover completely from, covid will be similar - unless you're unlucky enough to get long covid. As Bevvy sats, rest, rest & more rest. I'd be adding gentle exercise little & often, drinking plenty, treat yourself with kid gloves to protect yr heart & lungs. Pergaps wrap up and sit in the sun (when it appears). Take your time & good luck
I could have wrote this myself! Definitely an increase in asthma symptoms but responding super well to ventolin. I like to usually ignore what is going on but I’m trying to be more mindful about where some of my symptoms are coming from. I’ve identified that Covid definitely fueled upper respiratory mucus which has been settling in my throat and making me sound more chesty than my normal. It’s been a long time since I’ve had anything make it into my chest but fromWhat I remember it is more sounding like a chest infection at the end of treatment when the mucus has broken up a bit and looser rather than clinging to my lungs so tight that it sounds like I have just a dry cough. My GP had me in during the midst of my infection to listen to my lungs and they were also clear as can be.
While most people have found Covid cough very different, I’ve found I have 2 types of things going on, one being asthma but very responsive to ventolin and this weird all of a sudden coughing spasm that starts with a loud gasp.
I’m finding the melted brain effect the most difficult to manage.
