Seems like a good ‘Drying Day’

Managed to get my laundry on the line…..

If anyone from Norway finds 6 pairs of Tesco boxer shorts and 8 button down Oxford gingham shirts. Please PM me.

Good news. 😘👍

in reply toleo60

I bet they’ll say that’s not their responsibility. Or they’ll take 3 months to come & remove them. I wouldn’t have a clue who to phone!

Have you never heard of Scruff's tree management and removals.com LolHave chainsaw will cut is our motto, tree preservation orders not a problem.we just ignore them.

The idea of Scruffs plus chain saw and full protective tree gear has made me chuckle into my porridge.

Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply toskischool

😂 I suppose Scruffs can fit this in as the weathers put his airline pilot job on hold ? x

skischool profile image
skischool in reply toThepainterswife

Did you not see all those crazy videos of Scruff's landing at Heathrow in the wind yesterday.?

😹✈️ x

Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply toskischool

Omg I should have known a bit of bad weather wouldn’t stop her ! I’ve just been looking at her tree removal site

Scruffs- tree surgeon extraordinaire!

Funny you should say that Hanne!! The, lovely guys on customer services seem to have been told to pass on any tree related queries to seniors. They immediately tell us if the tree is in our garden we are responsible for it!! They were sent an email this morning in anticipation of the storm telling them exactly what to say in order for them not to have to pay up!!! Grrrr :( They will find me a little bit more difficult, and when I put my daughter on the phone, they positively had a meltdown! She has experience in insurance and my brains (!!) , so we should be fine ;) my tenancy agreement says that I should "maintain" any trees in my garden. How do you "maintain" a 75ft Leyllandii?? So, all good fun!! I will keep you posted! All seems a lot calmer out there now, hope the same for you :) Good night and sleep well xx

in reply toleo60

Don’t fall for that. I’d imagine the Landlord is responsible for keeping the tree in a safe condition, to protect you and neighbouring property, and not let it grow so tall that it’s liable to fall over in high winds. Leylandii are notorious for their shallow roots. They’re pulling a fast one. Glad you’ve got your daughter to back you up x

leo60 profile image
leo60 in reply to

No I am not having it at all!! The tenancy agreement says that I am responsible for maintenance of trees on my property, but how one maintains a 75ft Leyllandii, I really dont know!! I will defo be arguing this one!! xx

in reply toIan1967

Hahaha. Could all Northerners please keep the rubbish weather where it belongs in future, ie north of Watford Gap. Everyone knows that lovely warm sunshine belongs down here, and you get the cold wind & hail. It’s only fair x

Your request has been approved Hanne62 , I don’t know what it’s like in your neck of the woods but here in the NW it’s snowing ! I’m going out for a meal tonight but luckily I have my big coat 😊 I just hope I don’t have to spoil my outfit with wellies 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 x

in reply toThepainterswife

It’s just very windy today. You keep the snow & ice where it belongs, we don’t want it dine sithe!

Our only “disaster” from Eunice is a caput Sky box. I’ve tried everything but no dice so am stuck with Freeview & Netflix only, quelle horreur. Anyway I’m venturing out to visit my mother today (94 & a damn sight fitter than I am.) She’s become quite difficult, much patience is required. Whatever I do, it’s never enough. Also extremely deaf, & I don’t have the puff to shout!

Wear the wellies Val, but slip into your posh heels just outside the door, and enjoy your night out! Fgs don’t end up in the fracture clinic tho xxx

in reply toThepainterswife

Ps I haven’t had a proper night out since 2019 🎻 🎻🎻🎻🎻

My friend just cancelled due to bad weather , a bit of a relief really , pj’s, slippers and a comfy couch are much more appealing today 😊 Good luck with your mum , at least she won’t hear you muttering under your breath 😂 xx

Miserable up north today ☹️
Thepainterswife profile image
Thepainterswife in reply to

Ps I shall try to direct the cold and snow towards Norway along with Poppies underwear , you have enough to cope with today 😂xx

in reply toThepainterswife

Just stopped for flowers and other treats for her & having a sneaky coffee cos jeans & trainers soaked from a deluge which happened just as I was walking to the shop! Plus excessive traffic from the Brighton footie match, my day isn’t going well. Comfy couch sounds great, I’ll be having a hot shower & copying you later 👍 Let me know if there’s owt worth watching on tv 😉 xxx

Love that🤣 Being a southerner totally agree, we shouldn't venture out. My neighbour did and wind blew her over on doorstep. I had to sit with her until her daughter could come and decide on A&E or not.

I agree , I checked out my garden yesterday and there were pools in every flower bed 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve just braved another downpour whilst spreading large amounts of chicken pellets in the hope it soaks todays lot up 🤞 I think my sodden lawn is beyond repair but I expect the frogs are loving it 😊
