That is a very clear message! And so true. We are all having a difficult time but we all have to help the medical profession to help us. We are all in it together and cznt do much about it. Thanks for sharing Bkin. Chrys

Its worrying the medical profession not being able to cope. I listened to one of Dr John's videos that 2greys posted yesterday, it was heartbreaking to hear a nurse in Italy who was in tears and exhausted, they are so stressed. Without the medical profession we would all be stuffed.

Take good care and be safe Crys

It amazes me how the healthcare staff are always so nice in spite of the pressures they are under!

Yes, we will, no doubt hear many more very sad and worrying stories similar to that. I really believe that these dreadful times will start to bring out the best in us all. After all we are all part of the human race. Keep in touch and Keep washing your hands. Chrys x

I am staying in also, every little helps, every day those in the health and other services are putting their lives on hold to help us, the least we can do is stay at home. Have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

You take care too Bernadette. x

I think that, if we do have to go out, that we all behave as if we were infected, this should mean we take care for transmission in both directions. More useful than just protecting ourselves. The only people I could catch it from are the delivery gents. and my carer, but will do my best not to infect them. Just in case.

in reply toSORRELHIPPO

Can go out for walk but keeping distance for now any way, I guess it depends how many infected in your area whether walking out (keeping 2 metre distance) is safe or not. Carer to wear gloves mask etc. Take good care.

Wish this could be posted on the tv, so many stubborn people are just not getting it x

"so many stubborn people are just not getting it" I agree 100%. Tuesday I had a hospital appointment. The lack of use of the sanitisers by the public was horrendous. Not only that, half of those that did, were not using it correctly, only rubbing their palms together. I stood watching for a1/2 hour waiting outside their pharmacy waiting for a prescription to be filled. I do not understand how they do not know the seriousness of the situation. The news of it is everywhere. I really think it is time that a security person was placed there, to prompt people to use them.

Also a rather scary time when I was stuck in the stairwell, as the corridor on the respiratory floor went into a lock down whilst a (infected?) patient was being moved for, 10 mins and the 2 mins afterwards. The lifts were also stopped from being used during that time.

I will not have to attend again until the beginning of May for a CT Scan and follow-up appointment with the Oncologist in the middle of May, when infection will probably be at it's peak. Those will definitely be anxiety filled visits. Both over infection and possible news of further lung cancer.

I am at loss for words! How can people be so selfish?. It's stories like this that make us feel more vulnerable.

2greys profile image
2greys in reply toRoadRunner44

Not my intention to make anyone feel more vulnerable at all. But to be prepared to meet this themselves. The consultant said hospitals are cancelling all routine appointments as well as non urgent and elective operations. The only service continuing more or less normally will be for life threatening issues like cancer. Most of us , hopefully, will not need urgent hospital care.

That brings it home even more and must have been a worrying time for you having to visit the hospital, thankfully you can stay away until May and although masks dont give protection I would still wear one when you next visit as the virus will be at its peak. People I fear sometimes are the biggest problem as their behaviour is sometimes beyond comprehension x

I think it has been on tv but people are not always wanting to hear about it, I think some are in denial as well. Anyone can catch up again on BBC iPlayer - here's the link if anyone wants to share it : bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m...]

I hope that this is not similar over here, I suspect it is not far off being the same.

Things are heading in the way of Italy if people don't heed what the gov, health authority and scientists are saying. There is still the risk of further outbreak if lifted after 30 days.

And Instruction on national tv tonight:

On Social Distancing:

Police fine people over social distancing

Police forces in England and Wales have fined people for ignoring guidance to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Martin Hewitt, head of the National Police Chief's Council, said the UK was in a "national emergency, not a national holiday" .

I hope this makes things a little clearer for those people who are still not quite convinced ..

those living in England and Wales at lease ;) but hopefully Ireland and Scotland have their policing organised.
