are there links between health issues

i have a combination copd ,sleep apnoea ,underactive thyroid ,asthma are these linked in anyway

Certainly asthma and COPD can be linked. I have asthma/COPD overlap. I also know from other sites that lots of people who have COPD also have sleep apnea. However that can also be an age thing. More people from middle age onwards have sleep apnea and also although young people can have COPD (I was diagnosed around 40yrs) again more likely to be older when diagnosed…. Also being over weight which may be linked to under active thyroid can be linked to sleep apnea as well.

So yes there may be some links although don’t know how much in your case.

I Don't have sleep apnea but I have symptoms of low thyroid and I have severe asthma. Maybe it's a immune problem. I have no idea but there might be a link somewhere. The annoying thing is that each doctor has a speciality and will only deal with that. They don't do cross-overs very well at all.

A most interesting reply. I have been thinking the same as you for a long time. I have asthma, copd, and am now going to be investigated for heart failure (sometime). My breathing is getting worse it would seem.

It's an interesting thought. I have asthma and copd and no thyroid. Had an underactive thyroid, then a huge goitre so had thyroidectomy. I don't have sleep apnea though.
