My dad has just been advised by Jet2 he will need oxygen to fly with them. He doesn't currently have oxygen. Is this something we can get from the GP or are there companies we can hire from? They fly at the end of Jan and I know their GP is booked up with Covid boosters.

Oxygen for flight
You can’t get oxygen from your GP you have to be assessed as to whether you need it it is usually done by a respiratory team at a hospital
How have Jet2 reached that conclusion? It seems strange that an airline company are offering medical advice. I hope you can find out why they are requesting he travels with oxygen.
Jet 2 cannot insist someone who does not have O2 normally have it on a flight. That is frankly ridiculous and has probably been thrown up on their computer associated with the lung condition your father told them he has. He needs to call them. Speak to a senior manager and put it right.
He may need a “fit to fly “ certificate but as others are saying am confused as to why an airline is making medical decisions? Everyone’s oxygen sats fall during air travel and he MAY need oxygen to fly but that isn’t an airline decision…..would be down to a consultant or respiratory team to decide.
Can only reitterate what Hidden has said, obviously a cock up unless your father declared he was a registered oxygen user.?
I agree with other comments. Not the decision an airline can make. Unless he’s already a user and needs to bring his own oxygen supply on board. Good luck. Joy x.
I agree with other comments. Further clarity from airline in relation to their request. It could be that the wrong box has been ticked in relation to oxygen use.
He will have to be referred to oxygen nurse through his convulsant and jet 2 don’t do oxygen in flight and you carnt take your own on bored unless it a constant tater witch are 800 too hit I have just had to cancel my holiday xx
