Chronic fatigue.

I have IPF and was diagnosed in 2006 and I'm currently on 2/5 LPM of o2. Just recently I have felt chronic fatigue. I've just been shopping this morning to the supermarket came home and put the shopping away and I am wiped out. I was wondering if anyone else who has PF/IPF ever feels the same. I dont have a chest infection at the minute so I can rule that out. I am however on a reduction plan with my prednisolone and wondering if that could be a cause.

Hi Maureen, I don't have PF/IPF, I have emphysema/COPD, I have days when I feel like you describe, but thankfully not everyday. Although this weather is getting to me and I find I'm feeling less active or less lively.

If your symptoms are the same each day or are like this more and more often I would check back with your doc so he can keep an eye on you.

Hope you are feeling better real soon.

Rest up and breathe easy.

You've probably hit the nail on the head there re the reduction of prednisolone Maureen. Try being a little easier on yourself if you can and rest up - let's face it, plenty of well people can feel wiped out after shopping too! Hope you feel better soon, Parvati.

Ive been off the prednisilone 2 weeks now but still find the fatigue awful as tho someone has pulled the plug on my energy. The specialist told me that the fatigue is one of the worst things to endure and does last for ages. I was diagnosed in May with copd. I try not to push myself too hard and only do what I can when I can. Do hope you feel better soon

Chronic in COPD is because it is always there so is the fatigue chronic the same always have it or just have it now when tablets are different that can tell you what is making you feel off it.

Thank-you everyone for your replies, I've been keeping an eye on my sats today and noticed them dropping regularly to low 80s! I've turned it up my o2 and will keep it on 3LPM to see they improve, if not I'll have to go up to 4LPM.

I'm not a co2 retainer and my disease is restrictive rather than obstructive, my lungs are like leather. the o2 has a problem getting into my bloodstream, I suspect the low sats and the reduction in prednisolone are both factors in my feeling so tired.

Hi Maureen

I find that the overwhelming fatigue is one of the worst things, when i mentioned it to consultants they said unfortunately it goes with the PF.
