Philipd simply go Concentrator

Can anyone tell me if they have been provided with a simply go concentrator on the NHS.

I’m not quite sure what you mean by simply go, but I am on oxygen 24 hours with, naturally, a home concentrator, and cylinders for going out. A cylinder lasts for about an hour and a half, so if we go out for a day I can use a lot of cylinders. I asked the respiratory nurse if it would be possible to have a portable concentrator for use in the car. They provided an Inogen 3, which plugs into the car and provides a good enough oxygen level sitting in the car. We can therefore go out for a day and only take enough cylinders for me to be able to get out into the fresh air. The cylinder is easily carried on my mobility scooter.

Can I ask how many litres a minute you are on you are as a bit confused as to why you don't use your inogen when you are out and about

I need 4litres a minute flow, the inogen only does pulse and is not good for ambulatory oxygen for me. I need the 4l flow as I have quite severe pulmonary hypertension. The concentrator is a compromise so we can make longer journeys without taking lots of cylinders.

Is the mini a pulse concentrator or freeflow. Was this provided by the NHS

The Simply Go Mini is pulse only and does not do continuous.b

I’m on oxygen 24/7, 2 litres. I bought an Inogen 5 which is a pulse concentrator. There is a very long wait for a portable concentrator from the NHS in my area.

I have the inogen 3 which I was provided with one by the NHS great for going out in car. My problem is that I am on continuous flow so not suitable for overnight if you are away.

I have an Inogen 5 concentrator. I can either wear it over my shoulder or pull it along in a trolley. I also have small cylinders I can use in a backpack when I’m out and about or doing gardening. I am on setting 2.

I was supplied with the Philips Simply go and that can be used in pulse mode or continuous. Continuous is 0.5 to 2 litres per minute. It is a quite large item an weighs about 10lbs. Because of the weight it is not practical to carry on shoulder. There is a trolley for this model but that makes it more restrictive to get about.

Thank you for that. Have you used it overnight on continuous flow and was it successful. I have spoken to my respiratory nurse who has told me that it is unavailable through the NHS as it has not been licensed by the NHS.
