if on oxygen 15 hrs a day, and you feel ok without it for a while . do you still have to keep oxygen on all that time

If your prescription is for Long Term Oygen Therapy (LTOT)the normal recommendation is for 16hrs per day unless it is precribed for 24/7.The reason this is so is that LTOT for less than that period of time is not considered effective in the treatment of Copd.You may feel fine but your oxygen levels may be such that they are not consistently high enough to protect your vital organs.

But we are all individual in our needs so the best advice is discuss this with your respiratory team/oxygen nurse as we are not qualified to give you that advice.

I'm on oxygen and agree with what Ski is saying. Get some advice from the GP or nurse or get in touch with someone on the admin team of this site. Have a good night and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
