I Chest infection

Hi , l have chest infection at the moment, started recue pack ,the strange thing is my sputum is so different than the usual sputum with infection ,has anyone found that there sputum is thin quite watery,also whitish in colour smells of bleach (ammonia like) strange ,I've just done at home covid test as I feel unwell test is clear thank goodness ,but yes has anyone had bleach smelling sputum, I haven't inhailed any bleach products ,wondering what the smell must be

Yes, the bleach smell is familiar to me, a few years ago now.

I think just one the original/starting post, after that it might not matter. I stand to be corrected on that, as I never lock my posts.

Yes I have had the same a few years ago. From memory the infection took some time to clear and I think due to that my GP sent away a sputum specimen after a week because the infection was not resolving. If your infection does not seem to be getting better ring your GP.

Thank you ,I have two weeks recue pack plus prednisone which I started last Sunday, seems slow reacting to meds ,if foesnt improve ill send in sputum test
