Getting rid of nightly mucus

Anyone else tried this? My mucus is always much worse at night when I lay down in bed. Care Co. do a metal frame that goes under the pillows and keeps you sitting upright at a choice of angles.

It is working for me and it saves having a pile of cushions all over the bed. It did take a bit of getting used to sleeping in a more upright position but it was worth the effort.

Glad that you found something that helps. I don't have a problem with mucus but have slept in a head raised position for years as it helps to breathe more easily. Sometimes sliding down the bed can be a problem but having pillows tucked between the sheets at the bottom of the bed to rest one's feet against can help or having a pillow under the knees. Sleep well x

I've been sleeping fairly upright for about 3 years now. Started by sleeping in the living room using chair and footstool, then a chaise. Then bought an electric powered adjustable bed (like in hospital), which was ok except one is placed towards the bottom of the bed with feet hanging out. I have now made my own bed with plywood and custom made foam mattress pieces. I now sleep upright with my back to the headboard end of the bed, and with my knees raised. This stops me slipping down the bed overnight. The only problem I have is, it is a little difficult getting in and out of bed. I had an echocardiogram in the hospital where I was required to lay down. Initially I had to lay on my side. That was ok, but when I had to lay on my back I was soon clogging up and coughing. Interesting!

I have used a foam pillow wedge. I think I bought it on Amazon. They come in different depths. the one I used the most was the 7 in depth. I was always more comfortable sleeping on my right side, so I would need a small round pillow at my waist and a pillow under my head.
