Air Purifier has arrived :)

Well i finally decided to order the Levoit LV-PUR131 air purifier which is 100 % ozone free and am now stuck indoors awaiting its arrival. So i have a very bored dog missing her daily walk in the park. I was also going to order a few of those Himalayan salt lamps , but after looking into them , i read that they emit a stream of negative ions which produce ozone. So i am now confused ? Maybe they only emit a small amount that do no harm ? ..... Air purifier has arrived :)

Hello Catrina I've also been thinking of a air purifier can you keep us all updated on how you get on.

I've just bought a salt lamp haven't noticed much difference only had it about 2weeks but I shall wait and see. Best of luck

Hello Dilly2 , yes i shall do. I am looking forward to it arriving as the neighbour in the flat below mine , he does alot of d.i.y, painting etc and my flat smells of paint fumes when he does. So i am hoping the purifier is as good as the ratings it has received . I am not too sure on whether to buy the salt lamp because i read that they produce ozone which isnt good for lungs.

Please keep us updated how good it is thinking of getting one myself. I work in my home office for 18 hours a day everyday.

I received it about an hour ago. Its light weight and easy to sort. Ive had it turned on at full power for the past hour and there is a nice cool , fresh air coming out of the top of it and it is not too loud either. I shall keep it on in my bedroom tonight on low speed as its hardly noticeable noise wise on low. Too soon to say how it is working but the air does seem fresher than before and that is just after an hour. Its also taken the smell away from the beef big soup i had too ! Shall keep you updated after its been in use for a bit longer. They do a smaller version of it for small spaces. I got the bigger one as i need it for my living room aswell as bedroom.

Got my purifier on auto but it is so silent that i doubted it was doing anything. So i just sprayed air freshner near it and the purifier went from blue colour ( very good air quality ) to green and the fan sped up to clean the air. Am also cooking fish at the minute so i shall add more to this later as i want to see if it will take the fish smell away. My room is clear from dog hair and dust floating about , so i am pleased so far and not sneezing so much

WOW sounds great i have a dog big one and the hair off him is everywhere. Are these for people with emphysema

Yes or allergies. Im pleased with it. It was quite expensive but i feel its worth it. Can still smell the fish i cooked but not as strong as it was and it isnt long cooked . If you plan on getting one, then make sure that you get one that will be powerful enough to clean the whole area that you want it to do. Also make sure that you get one that is ozone free like mine is as some have negative ion generators that produce ozone which isnt good for our lungs. I didnt know about this but asked for advice before buying and someone told me about it.

I was going to get the same one you got £148 on amazon but my front room is 20ft x 12ft and office 12ft x 10ft

IT covers 322 square feet (30 m²) so should be ok

Cool will wait a little while longer for your next update then get one if everything is fine with yours.

Hi Carrina, how are you getting on with the air purifier, please? I just bought an air conditioner for my bedroom last week as I could hardly breathe in the heat. It really helped me but I wasn't aware of 'ozone', is it bad for me?

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply but i dont come on here very often lately. My air purifier is still going strong .Yes ozone is no good for you when you have lung issues. The purifiers with Hepa filters are the best ones to get . Mine has been great and the air is so much fresher in my room, but it isnt a air conditioner. It cleans particles from the air. It does release cool air from the top but to feel the benefit from that, you would have to be right on top of it. .
