You must mention that on your virtual consultation as i am sure they can pad it out and make it more comfortable whilst it does the job of protecting your foot?

Oh poor you, and nowyour movement will be restricted for a while and you will have to do a lot of resting. However, If you enjoy tennis or football you are in for a treat as The Euros are on TV and Wimbledon starts next week.I hope you are managing to cope with the day to day tasks and the pain isn't too bad.

Look after yourself and have a few treats to keep you going.

Best wishes, Chrys

Life can be so unfair sometimes! I am glad to hear you got a Twirl bar for being brave, though! Lol! At least it's not all bad, eh?Joking aside, I am really sorry you're laid up again now and hope your foot heals quickly and fully without too much pain.

And if your pavements are really bad, it might not be a bad thing to put a rocket up those responsible as even if you don't go for compensation (which I think you could probably do) , it might focus them to make essential improvements so that it doesn't happen again.

Now, tell 'em you need more chocolate and get that foot up. 😁Xx Moy

Oh No poor you Katie- hope you mend quickly . Maybe write to the local council about the pavement and tell them you are incapacitated now. A lot of our flagged pavements have been changed to tarmac now . Sending you hugs and hopefully the swelling subsides soon. 🤗🤗

katieoxo60 profile image
katieoxo60 in reply towatergazer

My daughter has inspected the pavement nothing the council would rush to rectify it just threw me off balance . apparently its not unusual for older people to get breaks from twisting their foot or stress fractures. Its even possible I stood on a small stone or pebble as I seem to have a small round bruise underneath on the sole of my foot too. I'm sure it will soon be better , weeks rather than months like my Knee op. Thank you

katieoxo60 profile image

The symptoms are suggestive of a stress fracture in the fifth metatarsel bone as I twisted my foot while walking. As you say it takes a while to heal. x

Oh no Katie! join the dodgy boot club! Is it one of the grey air boots that you can inflate? Don’t forget to raise it above heart level as much as possible and ice it ( pack of frozen peas works best) 2-3 times per day. Did you get a walking stick to help take pressure off? I can now hobble about in my boot without the stick ‘indoors’ but it’s taken 3 weeks. Good luck be careful, hope it mends soon. Cx😘💐

Ps unfortunately it may get a little worse before it gets better I.E swells whilst repairing and the bruising may come out all over the foot so don’t be alarmed. Feet are renown for it! Cx

katieoxo60 profile image
katieoxo60 in reply toKristicats

Hello Chriskho, Thank you for message . I did not get a walking stick has I have my own for my arthritis since I had a knee replacement, good job as the accident would have been worse otherwise. My foot is bluer since the break. its bad to stand on but aches sometimes. Had cramp last night it was agony took my breathe away. Everything is going wrong , the smoke alarm decided it needed a new backup battery yesterday and the burglary alarm company can't come in till this evening to replace the battery all though I have an out of hours service I pay for. Glad to hear you are getting a little better week by week. My boot is not the pump up ones. Can't tell the foots swollen unless I try to put shoes or socks on. Was told to raise my leg to reduce the swelling I have a simple exercise pillow that does that and an adjustable bed. So just keep plodding on like yourself we will survive as the song says.

katieoxo60 profile image
katieoxo60 in reply toteenieleek

The boot is very heavy but they are a bit slidey on the sole too. And your right take care as its easy to trip up if the toe flap at the front catches on anything. because my foots swollen the front flap is leaving an imprint in the swelling. But I am sure it will get better as we go along. Than k you x

Its very achy even with painkillers , certain spots are painful when moved . I will still be able to get out by car maybe but have to book that. Got some crutches , walker ect to go for a little walk locally. Not heard from virtual clinic so far so will have to ring them this afternoon as the GP does not get notified until after the phone call and it is 72 hrs since it happened anyway. So have to phone them this afternoon. Thanks for post . Take care

katieoxo60 in reply toCaspiana

Hello Cas, thank you for post. Like the picture I have teddies in my bed but no animals. Your right I am a bit immobile its playing havoc with the knee joint I had replaced too I know its only the muscles but that's not good. Think my foot is a little more than just a stubbed toe . But at least some of the bruising has gone yellow now . Hope you and your mum are doing well and you are keeping safe from the virus. Looks like more jabs for some of us in September as well as flu jabs. Have a lovely day , its a bit dull here today. Are you still busy with your modelling or found a new hobby? Take care life is for living so enjoy each day when we can. xxx

Caspiana profile image
Caspiana in reply tokatieoxo60

Hello Katie, ❤️

It sounds like you are keeping as positive as you possibly can in the situation. How long do you think it will take to recover?

Mum is I believe, plodding on, I have not been able to contact her these past few days as sometimes happens, and she is very bad at getting back to me. But I will try again tomorrow. I am doing well apart from some minor issues that I'm told "not a worry about at the moment". I would love to do more villaging but after being out of work for six years I find I must be my own accountant and oversee my finances with the strictest of measures, villaging is an expensive hobby. 😃 I however do fake plant arrangements as I am not allowed live plants due to soil fungi. I am planning to find some part time kind of work , as I feel it will benefit me mentally as much financially. I am taking my happiness where I am blessed with it and living the best life I can . You take care too Katie. *Hugs* xx ❤️

The flowers are gorgeous Cas. They say six to eight weeks but could be 12weeks fingers crossed no complications. Glad you do not have any major problems. As you say villaging is expensive. I do jigsaws can get them cheep in charity shops have a lovely day xx and hugs stay safe x
