Pacemaker

Well this morning the doc came. Said i needed a heart scan to decide which pacemaker i needed. Said he would get it done by the weekend for me. This afternoon came and took me on the bed at 15-30. Had my scan then went straight into theatre to fit my pacemaker. By 6 o clock was back on the ward walking around. And going home tomorrow. Thanks for all your messages and support. Hope you all have a good weekend while its dry. BRIAN

Wow how amazing what they can do in such a short time and then send you home the next day. I hope it helps how well you feel.

Yes feel good. Just a bit sore. Obviously. With a pulse of 28. Should of been keeled over when i came in. Instead of walking around. Just sad we been waiting over 5 hours now for Discharge paperwork. And meds. Have a good weekend. BRIAN

jackdup in reply toBingo88

Still amazed you could function with a pulse that low but the body is really amazing at adapting and adjusting. Hope you have a good weekend as well and no issues with the pacemaker.

Yes the Doctor came. And said you look remarkably well for a big guy. With a pulse of 28. Going down to 21 while i was asleep at night. Thanks jackdup. Home now. Carried my holdhall all the way from the ward to my wifes car. No Breathlessness at all. Before the pacemaker. Without carrying anything. Would have stopped at least 2 times. Hope you have a lovely weekend BRIAN

Very glad your procedure went well! I have emphysema and my 9 Ball team and I were in Las Vegas a few weeks ago for the world pool championships. We lost but walking around the area (108 degrees) I overheated and dehydrated which made my BP and heart rhythm go wild, so they hospitalized me at a wonderful Medical Center near LV called Spring Valley MC and they decided to put in a pacemaker. Interesting because a few weeks after the procedure, my breathing has improved campared to before the pacemaker. Makes sense since the heart is working better now so more oxygenated blood is pumping, I guess. I think my Guardian Angel decided Las Vegas was the place for the procedure.
