Confused asthmatic

Hi there. I've had problems with breathing and chest pains for 18 months, been in steroids and antibiotics. Doctors currently treating for asthma after having an asthma attack and being hospitalised recently. Keep changing meds and still feel that treatment isn't working effectively. Doctor now making referrals to ENT and respiratory specialists. Had scans, scans, EGGS etc but still confused and no diagnosis. Meanwhile my health is deteriorating and having big impact on my mental health. So confused at the moment.

Hiya ☺️ and wish you welcome 😉. I am sorry to hear that your health is been not great and still no answers.

It's seems that the Doctors do a lot to find out the reason for your problems.

Just speak to your GP or consultant and tell them that you are confused and that you need support for your mental health, but you need to tell them that you need help.

I wish you all the best, stay safe and that you soon be better again 👍🌹🌹🌹 keep us in the loop 😘

Hi, i'm in the same situation, i'm tired and confused. There are lung diseases that usually take time to develop and show up on ct scans or xrays... I personally think i don't have asthma at all but a form ild. I will book another appointment soon. Also, all my asthma meds do not help me at all so i'm in the same situation and i know how you feel right now.

Have a look at the NHS website aspergillosis.org as allergic bronco pulmonary aspergillosis has chronic asthma type symptoms but as it’s a rare disease a lot of doctors don’t recognise it. It also can be difficult to diagnose

I hope you get an answer soon. It sounds as if the doctors are trying a scattergun approach to find something which works for you. Good luck.
