I've just read a bloke from Yorkshire is having to have therapy after realising 4 potions of fish chips and mushy peas cost him Β£54 pounds π this reminds me so much of my dad and his " turn that light off ,put the immersion heater on one shot, you don't need so much coal on the fire, walk petrol costs money etc ,I do miss the old fella.
Breath easy everyone .

Yeah, pilks have slung their hook, sheet works , cowley Hill, fibre glass ,triplex and head offices , thd Town took a big hit when they packed up but everything changes .

I'm back at whythenshaw transplant Centre in August carole to decide whether to go on transplant list at the moment im still undecided so I have a lot of soul searching to do b4 then but not to much ,being to interrespective can be damaging , ill let ghe decision come organically I think ,ill know when the breathlessness and stress of everyday living becomes to much x
Iβm a Lancashire girl and I remember years ago paying Β£13 for fish , chips n peas for myself and hubby at Harry Ramsdens in Blackpool .The same meal plus free scraps was about Β£5.00 from the local chippy at the time I was absolutely mortified, took me years to get over it and I was more annoyed because we had actually queued for ages for the privilege of eating there . π‘π
My Dad from Cumberland, I still turn the lights out when I leave a room. Drove Hubby nuts, when grumbling if he left the fridge/freezer door open when going back for a second item, or boiled a full kettle for one mug of coffee.
Change the o in nowt to an e for newt and you have pure st.helener ,mind you add a y to the end of newt and you have most northerners when they pay southern prices lol .
It is I just wasnβt sure if that was politically correct these days, I have no idea which words Iβm allowed to use or not , people seem to be very easily offended these days π€¦π»ββοΈπ₯΄π
Not at all soulboy, being as the post was aimed at northerner's I hadn't thought the genuine expression would offend anyone, but I appreciate not everyone would be of the same opinion Twas not I that brought the subject up really - Painterswife replied to me and I was responding to her - so glad no harm done
Have I offended anyone π€ ?? If so Iβm sorry but then that would offend you so Iβm not sorry π€£π I would never choose to cause offence but if someone chooses to be offended when Iβm not being offensive then Iβd be offended π.
Used to get a bag of scraps from the chippy for a penny( old penny that is) when I was a kid. Scraps were the bits of chips and batter from the fish leftover in the fryer for anyone that doesn't know. Yummy. π
I know scraps very well, local chippy ( moores) used to save me some every dinner time when I was at school ,lovely on a split ( chips and peas to the uninitiated,)
Even in darkest London we had scraps. BUT they cost 6p, as I remember. We used to buy them on our way home from Guides, until Captain told us it looked bad to be mooching up the High Street eating scraps in Guide uniform. However we found a back way home, over the tube line and through the allotments, so nobody much could see us.πππ
