I took 2 Anadin Extra for a headache and it seemed to improve my breathing almost straight away!
Do you think I could take 2 a day?

To take any pain killer daily is risky because you stop tolerating amount and need to take more to get same effect. Some people do take aspirin daily due to heart conditions but this is with gp knowledge. I don’t think you should be taking any medications without gp awareness. My gp even wants information about herbal items in case contradictions with other medications.Personally I am not convinced aspirin would improve breathing unless inflammatory aspect at that particular time. I also simply don’t believe that it would be so simple to treat breathing issues. Otherwise why am I taking all my different medications!! 🤷♀️
The one thing I have learnt is about how wildly different the symptoms can be with good days and bad days, literally overnight. I can go to bed after a bad day where I need my reliever inhaler the moment I wake up and maybe using it 6 times that day. The next day I can be up and atom without using my reliever inhaler until early evening. No rhyme or reason, chalk and cheese, between consecutive days. As the years have past by, I now have more bad days but of course that is only to be expected.
I would certainly not advise taking that amount on a routine daily basis at all. There are some serious dangerous side effects. You need to contact your GP, I think he will probably say the same. There is a case for LOW dose aspirin (75 mg) and that is prescribed as a blood thinner.
Here is an information leaflet.

4.4 Special warnings and precautions for use.
Caution should be exercised in patients with asthma, allergic disease, impairment of hepatic or renal function (avoid if severe) and dehydration. The hazards of overdose are greater in those with non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease.
Do not take if you have a stomach ulcer.
Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor.
Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine.
Talk to your doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well. This is because too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
There is a possible association between aspirin and Reye's syndrome when given to children. Reye's syndrome is a very rare disease, which affects the brain and liver, and can be fatal. For this reason aspirin should not be given to children under 16 years unless specifically indicated (e.g. Kawasaki's disease).
Patients should be advised that paracetamol may cause severe skin reactions. If a skin reaction such as skin reddening, blisters, or rash occurs, they should stop use and seek medical assistance right away.
The obvious answer would be to check first with your doctor.
I used to take the cardiac dose daily (asprin) which is only 75mg after six months this caused excessive bruising when gripping anything as simple as a broom and in additional caused excessive acid reflux.

Generally analgesics for pain relief, inhalers and regular exercise to aid breathing is the norm.
If it were me I would speak to my GP before taking anything long term that has not been prescribed by my GP. Over time there is a possibility that you need to take more to get the same effect. Please be careful. xx
