Pleurisy after effects

I was diagnosed with Pleurisy a few weeks ago and given a course of antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory tablets which seemed to clear up the immediate problem. However I have been left with stomach cramps, backache, a feeling of bloatedness, particularly after eating, and sore ribs. I wonder if anyone else has experienced these symptoms after pleurisy and whether they lasted.

You’re welcome! Sorry I’m not more help! I can imagine they could well be a result of pleurisy but I don’t know from experience! Good night 😴

Sorry I can't help either from my own experience, but there are several people on here who have experienced pleurisy. If you look at the Related Posts column (to the right on a laptop, not sure where on a mobile), you can look at previous posts. My understanding is that pleurisy can affect you for up to six months, and one of the most helpful things to do is place a hot water bottle on the affected place. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Erdengel,

Thank you for your reply, I have been trying to get an appointment with my GP, but they can't offer me anything before 6th June, so I have gone through 111, who are going to try to arrange an appointment with an out of hours GP this evening, so hopefully I'll get some answers then. Once I do I'll post the outcome on here so that if anyone else experiences similar symptoms it might reassure them.
