It's all change for the trendy crowds along the canals of Milan, used to holding a glass of aperitivo in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Because a ban on smoking outdoors has just come into force in a range of public places.
Smoking within a 10m (30ft) distance of other people is no longer permitted from Tuesday at bus and tram stops as well as in the city's parks and green spaces, sports and recreational grounds, children's play areas, stadiums and cemeteries.
How do we get that here ! More publicity neededI live in a end of terrace house with 2 people in adjoining house being heavy smokers with 3 children , and who smoke inside and outside. .The smoke drifts up and along face of building to nearest open space ,into open windows and past to end of terrace Even with windows closed , ventilators can't be closed ,summer is particularly bad. The smoke comes out of their window and into mine. If the smoke can carry small particles it can carry covid too.

Yes, I remember saying, on here, about being forced to drink and eat inside the pub on hot summer days by the numerous smokers sat outside.

When I was working it was the smell of ‘green’ ( a very smelly narcotic weed) that used to really annoy me In some of the streets that I had to walk into. It is a smell that totally fills the lungs. Horrible illegal stuff x
