I am thinking of getting an indoor machine for walking, not running as i am past that. Nothing too fancy but well built and reliable. There are so many out there and is very confusing, I looked at past posts but apart from running machines the only posts i found were 5 x years ago.
So i would be grateful for any advice and recommendations, thanks

There are many treadmills on the market. It really depends if you have ample space for one you can leave up all the time or you would prefer one you can fold up.
I don't have one myself, I just don't have the space for even a fold up one. I do have a folder exercycle though.
See what Argos or Amazon have available, with Amazon you can read all the reviews before making up your mind and be fully away of measurements of the equipment and the space it will require.
Hi, I got a treadmill just over a year ago from Ideal World shopping channel. It was a Linear Premium Foldable make, cost £399. I looked around too, and yes, found it very confusing before deciding on this model. They are still selling this model as far as I know.
It came complete so there was nothing to put together on arrival. It is very sturdy, the foot bed is flat and there are many speeds settings plus readouts of how far you have walked and the time spent on it. The handle folds down for storage. One slight drawback is that the electrical lead is very short so I have an extension lead for it.
I'm just telling you about it for your information rather than a recommendation. I know that it is an expensive model. I did consider second hand ones on ebay and, while there were many for sale, many were collection only.
thank you very useful, do you have to do any maintenance on it and is it still going strong after a year. There are so many reviews and horror stories, its all very confusing. but this sounds just what i want. All i want it for is walking, I have no intention of running. Also i see that some have a soft belt so it is kinder on the feet and sorry to ask do you use it everyday?
I haven't had to do any maintenance so far. I only walk on it at the lowest setting but my husband wacks it up to full speed when he uses it and, so far, we have not had any problems at all. It gets used most days but, sorry, I can't answer your last question about a belt. We both wear slippers when using it and haven't had any problems with sore feet.
Thanks, you too.I think that if you do a search for the treadmill I bought you may get the specifications of it, possibly from the manufacturer although I'm not sure. May be worth a try for more information.
Sorry I meant the BLF/healthunlocked search bar. There have been several posts & comments about them here. I just tried it and there were several on othe communities. P
Like CDPO I have seen the treadmill on Ideal World shopping channel (channel 22) which looks quite good. If it doesn't suit you they have a good returns policy.Argos also sells a wide range of machines -as Spencer Davis sang in the 1960s 'Keep on Running'!
