My dad has had jab. Says all very efficient. With lots of staff to ensure social distancing adhered to.Looking forward to when I am called for mine.

Not had the jab nor been called but I am sure its safe as Bevvy has indicated when her Dad went.

Interested, if you are in Tier 4,?

if you have a date?

and what group level if you don't mind sharing?

Levels:

1. residents in a care home for older adults and their carers

2. all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers

3. all those 75 years of age and over

4. all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals

[footnote 1]

5. all those 65 years of age and over **

Many thanks, just wandering how much nearer to having the vaccine we all are.

Do let us know how you find things and your experience.

Best wishes BK

HiI am in Tier 3. 80 years old so according to online calculator

Pfizer Biontec Calculator due in next 4weeks. Waited so long in shielded group, since mid March don’t want to get it when in final strait, so to speak. Know how difficult it is for everybody. Just wanted to know what precautions they take at the vaccine centre.

I would say all the precautions required to safeguard themselves and patients. I would also say mask wearing will be compulsory as it will be a quick in and out like the flu vaccine. But you can always phone the telephone contact provided in your letter if there is anything not mentioned that you are unsure about. Or if you were notified by your GP surgery contact them.

Thanks Bain. Just wondered if there were any extra precautions due to this new variant?

Its still hand washing, masks, space and ventilation and anything in your Tier all can be viewed from bbc site....

I’ve just taken a call from my mums surgery. She’s 85 and is up for her jab tomorrow afternoon. She will be masked. My brother will take her ( I live 200 miles away ) and drop her home. She’s been asked to wear a short sleeve top ( as flu jab) but 15 mins rest to check for adverse reaction time after to factor in.

Second jab 20th January.

I think it’s very positive as she’s very vulnerable. I’m not too worried about the injection itself for her tbh.

My husband had his jab a couple of weeks ago and we were extremely impressed by the organisation that had gone into keeping everyone safe.

Distancing was strictly followed with someone managing the queue to ensure that no one got too close to anyone else. There was a one way system. Everything was being wiped down as each patient went through. There were separate booths etc.

People had clearly been invited to attend in small clusters, so not a long queue. Wipeable plastic chairs, safely distanced, placed for the next cluster of people to sit on as they arrived. All managed by another member of staff with his clipboard. I was allowed to sit and wait there for my husband.

After his jab, my husband had to wait 15 mins and was shown into another waiting area where there were several staff members ensuring that distancing rules were followed, wiping chairs as they were vacated and, of course, ensuring that patients weren't suffering any worrying effects from having the jab.

xx Moy
