Fostair 200\6

Hi anybody out there on this inhaler, I started it yesterday and would love to hear from other users.

I have moderate copd and was on symbicort for years which I found very effective. Then at the beginning of this year because symbicort was getting was getting harder to get hold of (brexit?) I was switched to fostair instead. I have found no difference and it does a good job.

Fostair is one of the best known copd inhalers and it works well for me. We are all different though but I think you will be fine with it.

Hi can someone tell me how you the inhalers make you feel they have never made me feel any different I just thought they helped stop it getting worse but I don’t feel my breathing any different when I take me flexotide and anorora

I have the 200/6 and it works fine for me. Less squeaking and wheezing since changing up from the 100/6. I hope it works as well for you.

Thanks, have you had any problems with thrush in the mouth as I was told I have to rinse my both out well .

I’ve been on Fostair 200 for a few years now and it is fine for me. I have bronchiectasis and asthma.

I too have been on Fostair for 3+ years but the lower dose 100/6, 2 puffs 2 x daily with more when I need it or less when I don't (like high summer). Its been utterly brilliant for me. As a matter of course I've gargled both before and after inhalers for 10 years to avoid anything sticking to my throat. Good luck with it. P

Hi, I take Fostair 200/6 for asthma...it makes me a bit shaky for about an hour or so. It makes me wheeze, however seems to keep my peak flow stable.

Just rinse your mouth each time. I’ve not had thrush but it’s always worth rinsing after inhalers!

Fostair did not agree with me. Caused numerous problems. Once back on old inhaler mo problems. We are all different so may agree with you. xxSheila

Horrific Panic attacks. It sent my heart rate up Struggling to breathe.Oxygen levels dropped. Gave in called ambulance. Was hospitalised

Taken off Fostair and all went back to normal over night most frightening experience ever. I just couldnt breathe in ,heart pounding.so scary. I know you cant die from a panic attack but when it's happening it doesnt feel like that. I was in my en suite banging on the radiator to get my husbands attention as he was,sleeping.. I couldn't speak only gasp. I bruised all my hand badly hitting the radiator to get attention.never again hopefully. But I will add this is my experience and we are all different so others on here may tell you different.hope it all works out and you get the correct medication

I have been on the same medication since diagnosed 10 yrs ago. It works so why change it. The Dr 's do try and change it especially if there's a new Locum but I won't accept. I tell them My Consultant prescribed my medication and I wont change it.good luck🙌Sheila.

Hi, I have been on Fostair now for over two years, at first I did not think it was going to work as it gave me the usual shakes and did not seem to be doing anything, I spoke to my Consultant and she said to give it a few more days, which I did and now would not be without it as, it helps my lungs. I hope all goes well for you now., I have COPD for a number of years and have found Fostair to be one of the better inhalers. I wish you well.xxx

I was on Symbicort which started to make me cough more. Changed to Fostair about five years ago and find if to be much more effective. I use it through a spacer and I also gargle with water after I use it. (If you’re prone to oral thrush which some inhalers can cause, eat live yoghurt).

I've been on Fostair 200/6 for about 3 years now for asthma and bronchiectasis. On the whole it has kept me well controlled. I use the dry powder inhaler and have no problems with thrush. I do bruise easily though which I put down to the large dose of steroid I am inhaling.Before this I was briefly on symbicort which gave me rebound bronchospasm, but mainly just ventolin and beclametasone . With just the latter I was getting regular exacerbations.

Hi! I find I’m a bit shaky after taking it as if I’ve used my ventolin. It’s not too bad and it goes off after a while.

Hi NantucketI’ve been on Fostair for a long time now and I’m finding it’s keeping down any coughing and mucus. I get no trouble at all with it.

Im on fostair.seemingly,the particles r smaller so are absorbed easier

Hi and yes I have had copd for a few years and have been on this Fostair 100/6 throughout, find it works for me in the main altho do have occasional but rare thankfully (!) flare ups, it's worth a go!

I was moved from seretide to Forstair 200/6 about 3 years ago. No side effects, slightly better but lately struggling a bit this year. Having more blood tests next week so may find some other reason.
