Use a spacer and rinse your mouth out after every use ,i use fostair twice a day and have done this for a few years now with no problems ,hope this helps
I'm on a crazy amount of fostair at the mo, following severe asthma attack. My voice definitely became quieter at first, but now been taking it about 5 weeks and it's back to normal. I do find I shake a lot...but am on 8 puffs a day at the mo.
Do you find that it keeps you awake at night? When my asthma is bad which happens to be at night I have to take 8 puffs however now that keeps happening I am unable to get to sleep
Yes a bit....I generally take 2 puffs morning, lunch,tea&bed....It's actually Fostair 200/6. Am also on a whole heap of other meds too tho....alvesco 160, 4 puffs a day, spirits 2 puffs a day&3 different asthma tablets...so it could be a mix of all of them &prednisone
I agree - swill your mouth out and gargle after using the inhaler. I also do stretching exercises for my vocal chords. i.e. pretend to yawn a few times. Do exaggerated chewing movements .
Hi Brockman911, have you tried fostair100 I was on fostair next which was powder, and affected my voice, have me thrush in the mouth, but the fostair 100 is a gas cylinder like a ventolin, use through a spacer. Helps me.
I had the same experience but eventually my voice recovered. I use 2 puffs twice a day and now my voice is normal again. Stick with it !
I use Fostair, 2 puffs morning and evening followed by long gargles. My voice is so husky and low though and I struggle to make myself heard. Been on it for 2 years and it helps my breathing, I find it so tiring to get my voice out. Polly X
