I have one to for 4pm today. I know just how you feel but it will be worth it in the end. Best regards.

Keep thinking of relaxing on a sunny beach with the gentle lapping of the waves and the same awareness of the rise and fall of your abdomen. Think Calm ....... repeat every time you get distracted or feel anxiety rising :)

When you go in with the dentist remember to have the hand signal understood if you want to cough etc. The Dentist will understand, but remember also, the less interruptions the quicker it will be over.

You will likely look back and think it wasn't nearly as bad as you feared.

Best wishes it will soon be over now and then you will be able to rest easy knowing that ordeal is now in the past.

When Ive got a scary dentist appointment coming up, I try to breathe slowly and concentrate on the time AFTER the appointment, knowing that time passes and I will get to the other side (no, not that one!) when it is all over. It helps me not obsess, which I can do, on the actual appointment and my fear of it. It's like a kind of psychological leapfrogging over the event. Very soon you will be past it mickyjoan4.

Thinking of you!

I went last week and have dental phobia -it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined.

You will do great loadsa positive vibes, slow deep breaths and mindset of yes we can do this.

Dentist's are so much more aware of us folk who are frightened than they were in past.

Good luck!

I was o f the biggest wusses when it came to dentists, 30 odd years ago they used to give me valium to calm me down. I now have the most caring calm dentist. The last 5 years i have been happily going on my own and having treatment, and being able to drive straight after. 3 weeks ago i had root treatment. The new numbing injections are fantastic. so quick and efficient.

Wishing you all strength, and hope the after effects are not so bad

How did you get on? I have serious dentist phobia and haven't been for years in spite of my teeth crumbling and falling out. So I totally sympathise!

My dental appointment was yesterday morning. It went really well. The staff were keen to explain all the steps they had taken to protect me, and the treatments they were no longer using to protect themselves. Didn't hurt at all this time.

Hope you found the same, mickyjoan4.

You should understand that you need regular dental advice, and sometimes dental treatment. You must have the courage to go to the doctor! I know you're scared, but you can handle it. As a child, I was afraid of dentists, but it's fair to say that 20 years ago, medicine was quite different. I don't like my smile because of my uneven front teeth. A year ago, on the advice of friends, I decided to install braces of thehealthysmile.net/dental-... company. It was very important for me to straighten my teeth with invisible orthodontics. To be honest, I'm very happy that I chose this method, as there is no indication that I wear braces. I see a noticeable result! I realized that fear prevents a person from acting, so it must be overcome.

Hello all you lovely people. I just wanted to say that finally I’m done. I had one extraction and a root canal and have now had one cap fitted. It was really ok, no pain, so different from what it used to be. Honest I was amazed and will be quite happy to go in may to see hygienist. It may hurt I don’t know and I guess there may be blood (guess what, blood phobic !) but that’s ok I shall go. I couldn’t have done it without all your really kind and caring thoughts to me so abig thank you and kiss 😙
