Hi Sean. 👋😀 If you provide as little information like you have done in this post, I dare say it would be zero. Not everyone gets benefits by just a diagnosis of COPD I'd imagine. More information on her condition, how long she's had it, how severe it is what specifically has she been diagnosed with etc. will aid readers to help you.

Hello Sean2020, just two other sources to add if over 50 Age uk, or you can try Citizens Advice Bureaux (cab) who now will help with an initial query on line. Local councils have benefits help lines too as do most of these Healthunlocked groups, have you tried British Lung Foundations help line, think the number is 03000030555. Whether your mum gets benefits or not depends on her own personal circumstances & current income. Good luck to your mum & you

The main thing to remember is that benefits are not awarded due to condition. It is how that condition effects you in daily life. I would recommend that you keep a diary for a couple of weeks recording what help you need to do basic tasks. For example dressing, or washing your hair. As others have suggested get help filling in the forms. I used AgeUK and they were very helpful. I would also recommend gathering as much evidence as you can before applying such as doctors, physiotherapist and occupational therapist letters. You only have 28 days to return the forms and getting your evidence now will take a lot of stress out of the process. Also download the descriptors for how they award points it will give you a good idea what points your mother could get.
