Apple 'not told' about UK's latest app plans.

Apple says it did not know the UK was working on a "hybrid" version of the NHS coronavirus contact-tracing app using tech it developed with Google.

The firm took the unusual step of saying it was also unaware of an issue regarding distance-measuring, which was flagged by Health Secretary Matt Hancock in Thursday's daily briefing.

Apple said it was "difficult to understand" the claims.

Downing Street said the government had "worked closely with Apple and Google".

Why am I not surprised ?

At first, being a positive person, and in the spirit of “we’re all in this together”, I was willing to think the best of the government’s handling of the crisis. There seemed a reassuring determination to defer to science, medicine & technology, & Rishi Sunak’s economic measures were great. Now it’s hard to know how much of the information we can believe. I prefer to rely on independent bodies like the Office for National Statistics and the Office for Budgetary Responsibility.

They kept on saying they were guided by the science or lead by the science so they can blame the scientists when it goes wrong which sadly its been a disaster throughout.

It's the lies that get to me with this government. Lie after lie, day after day. How am I supposed to know when to stop shielding, for instance? I can't trust them, that's for sure.

There was supposed to be an announcement on shielding ....but nothing so far except for that leaked article in the Guardian and Telegraph this week.

So more uncertainty especially for those shielders who are furloughed .

Worry and uncertainty and the feeling of being sidelined cant help people cope with existing health conditions, surely?

Yes, it must be very difficult indeed for people who are furloughed. I count myself lucky that I'm on the state pension, so at least I have an income, and am able to make my own decisions as to going out, etc. If and when. And people will be suffering with the uncertainty, I'm sure.

It's a disgrace that there's no reliable source of information, I think.

They stand at their podiums day after day just spouting total deceit. I'm afraid the country got what they voted for.

The government seems to think it can say anything and that will be that. They seem to take us all for fools. Wait for the next election, if only it were tomorrow!

If Johnson says something is certain you may be sure it most definitely isn't.
