My 12 weeks will soon be over no one can advise if the government is going to extend shielding or not not sure where I stand I work in a small nursing home

This is stressing me out beyond belief

We are not going to hear anything until the 15 th of June, Emily. The government are reviewing the whole policy now that they know more about the virus. I think we can expect some groups to be added to the shielding category and others removed. We don’t really know who yet.

For the first round of shielding they took a blanket approach, but this time they are going for a “ more personalised approach.”

We will be contacted after the fifteenth. It was suggested that this would be a call from our GP, but my money is on a text.

The guidance at the moment is to continue shielding until the 30th unless you are contacted to tell you otherwise.

Hi Emily, good to see you. You’ve had some helpful replies so hope they’ve lessened your stress.

We’re shielding until we feel safe to go out. We’ve only had a drive out in the car and come home again.

I would imagine the problem is you need something in writing to show your workplace ? Hopefully we'll all hear after june 15 th.

Hi Emily611, I too am in shielding and work in a nursing home. I’m also stressing over going back. I just heard my home are now obliged to take people coming out of hospital which obviously ups the risk of it coming into the home. So far my home has been Covid free but it seems it’s going to be higher risk now.

Have your workplace been in touch? At the moment shielding is until 30th June...on gov.com& NHS site. The government are supposed to be reviewing it on the 15th June I think& we’re supposed to hear from them onwards.

No just trying to figure things out. Your place isnt being safe is it
