It will be worth all the upheaval when its done. It's hard being unsettled over christmas but hopefully you will soon be sorted. Going out christmas day sounds like a good plan. Keep well
It does look a bit chaotic! But it will be worth it when itβs done Iβm sure. Hopefully it will be finished in time before they close for the holidays π€ What will you do without furniture? Is the kitchen finished enough to be able to cook? π₯§ Enjoy your day out on Christmas. Only one week away already π
Chaotic was an understatement! πLiving-room, dining-room, kitchen finished now, just waiting for the radiators to be fixed! I have received my table and chairs.
Beaβs bathroom is provisional but works. Her bedroom is done. She has a mattress on the floor!
My bedroom and bathroom wonβt be done. I got used to sleeping on the sofa in front of the telly. Furniture is in storage for now.
It will be ok once we have heating everywhere!
We are actually looking forward to the weekend to have a break π
Well i am shocked,i saw the box marked 'douane' in the corner and a bloke surveying a pile of stuff and i thought it was a drug bust in a Marseille flat. What are they doing to your appt my happy friend?you must ask your 'yellow jackets' in France to bring a halt to this injustice and restore your sanctum immediately.Bon Noel if we don't hear from you again.
Trust you to check all the labels on packaging!!! Tiles my friend, and this is Switzerland so we have customs and customs duties I can add!!
Bon NoΓ«l to you too!!
Love from Bea, Aria and I xx
Its good your going out Christmas day πlet someone else spoil you with all the running back and forth all year you have been doing π€ .... hope you enjoy your day either way and you,ll soon be back to normal at home as time soon passes except when we,re waiting for something of course π lol xxx

Exactly I will put my feet under the table and be spoiled.
Hope you have a great Christmas day too my LAM Sis πππ
I'm not sure that "shambles" is quite the right description, "builders yard" comes closer. I do hope your sofa is a comfy one. You are lucky to be invited out for Xmas day and not spending it alone.
Good luck, Fran, looks like quite a job ahead, but maybe once all the boxes are cleared as the men leave, it wonβt look so bad.
Be careful with all that dust, my friend. Be sure to get the workers youβre paying to bring in one of their strong vacuums to make a good start.
I asked my builders to be sure to remove their dust this way, due to my breathing problems. They happily dragged a powerful machine up the stairs, then I found that their dust pipe had no bag but was was set to hang out of the window, just above our back door!! Better out than in, I suppose!!
Buenas Dias Carino, What a Mess Fran. Lived like this once in a Town House we bought in Spain, changed the Ground floor into a Restaurant, But, I didn't have COPD then (?) in the end it was worth it, Beautiful 150 year old Spanish Dwelling came to Life. Like your Bathroom will for you. have a Beautiful Christmas Day with Friends away from it all. Love to Bea & Aria. Abrazos y Besos. XXXXX
Just think how lovely this will be once its finished, Christmas is only a couple of days and you will be celebrating with friends away from the turmoil. Have a lovely Christmas Fran xx
Hi Fran, experienced this lived like it for weeks and we were unpacking xmas eve. You feel you'll never get it finished. Be worth it when it's all done. Have a lovely Xmas and a happy New year to you all. ππππMajt
Saw the photo and thought "Poor Fran" but when I read it you sound quite upbeat and to be coping well, sleeping on the sofa. So glad you can escape to friends on Christmas Day.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Hsppy and Healthy New Year in your lovely restyled flat.
Hello Fran, looks like things are coming together , but way behind schedule. So not going to be a nice Christmas for you, but think of all the jobs you will have to keep you busy in the new year, and you can send photos of your progress. Only remains for me to wish you a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.xxx
Yes it was major. Dad had never got it renovated in 30 years I think. Everything was out of norms..when you think they started on August 20th and it is just a three bedroom ground floor flat!
It is getting better although I wonβt have a bedroom and a bathroom for the New Year π but we managed to get the tree in the living-room..
The kitchen is lovely, all new appliances I need to learn again and againπ..and finally heating for Christmas π
