I want to buy some

disposable masks for when they are needed but don't know which ones to choose. Myself and family will need to have them when travelling, hairdressers/barbers etc so want to be ready. I have looked on line but haven't gone ahead with any of them because I don't know what I am buying. Any recommendations will be gratefully received. Thank you all.

Some of us have these washable ones from: elle.co.uk

I'm finding them soft and comfortable. Once round the locall small supermarket then I whip it off for the wash bag.

I know nothing about disposable ones but there are a lot of scams out there. P

Yes, I don't care what people say about them being no protection. I prefer to protect myselfany way I can as I have for nearly 10 years with a Buff pulled up 😉 xxx P

If everyone wears one then there is protection from anyone’s droplets whether they cough sneeze or just talk.

In hospitals we wear clinical masks to protect the patient from us. In surgery the surgical masks protect also us from the patient fluid etc.

Hi Peege,

I use a buff in cold weather and have been wondering if I should buy disposable or washable face masks if it ever becomes safe for shielding people to leave our houses. Keep safe

Hiya, long time no see. I was wearing my Buffs doubled over until I bought the washable ones which are also double thickness. For the 1st few weeks I was putting everything in the oven at 70° including the 2 new Buffs and fine leather gloves.

I'm not shielding so I'm walking the dog down the middle of the empty roads away from everyone. Also popping in to my small local Co-op now when it's very quiet wearing mask & disposable gloves, washing the packages when I get in.

You stay safe too xx

I think covering face is a great idea, for us and for other people. I'd feel a lot safer if everyone did it. Stands to reason doesn't it?

Masks, unless properly fitted, don't protect the wearer but do help protect others. At least that's what I have understood from medics.

Hello. I ordered some from Elle as recommended by Peeve on the forum. They cost about £17 for 5, Including postage. They are nicely made in a soft, comfortable material fit nicely and are are comfortable. But I havent tried them outside as yet.
