Thanks for that 2greys, I have read the whole lot. My mind keeps returning to the graph showing no 'action' though and the huge no. of cases and wondering why the govt. didn't act straightaway especially with other countries examples.

There are many who are asking the same question including me. My personal sneaky suspicion is that they were chasing after a "herd immunity" goal. Suddenly it dawned on them the amount of the loss of human life was going to be totally unacceptable.

It must also be recognised that it is much of the older generation that vote Tory, they could have lost their majority by allowing too many of the older generation, most at risk, to die off.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory, sorry.

Whatever the real reason and truth was behind the sudden change of course, with the timing of lockdown, will only get known by our grandchildren, when certain documents from the National Archive get declassified, released and made public, many, many years from now. (When it no longer matters of course).

I think you are right coz Bojo was talking about herd immunity in the first week or so. This strategy cost many lives as they acted to little and too late and these restrictions could be less severe now. We might even have been out of lockdown entirely by now.
