I'm in isolation too not sure myself probably told by hubby but didnt take it in. Just a thought might be wise not to put your address and name on view. To be safe.

Not sure. Maybe Boris will shed some light on this in his Sunday briefing.

I’m thinking I will probably shield until I get the vaccine.

We all have to wait and see.

7 weeks down another 5 to go for me although last I heard its extended to 15 June, so for me that will be 13 weeks.

Enjoy :)

I had another letter the other day that said shield for 12 weeks from today - that takes me up to 27th July, not that I’m planning going anywhere.

I think for myself I won't feel safe until I get a vaccine so going to keep shielding myself regardless in so much as I can. In my area you could swear they've already lifted the lockdown. A local kfc opened yesterday and the pictures of the queues were crazy, plus I've noticed much more traffic on my road (live on a main road). I do go out, walk the dogs and I do our weekly shop so it's isn't do bad for me, although the weekly shop is so scary. And I've got a garden so that helps especially with the weather we've been lucky enough to have recently. I think the gov has to come up with a balancing act perhaps we'll get some insight on sunday from Boris. But I think it's going to be a case of economy vs life. I don't envy them, it's a tuff call 🙈 xxx

Well that was bound to happen once they allowed fast food places to open. Me myself. I will be happy just going for a drive Getting some fresh air. If we see somewhere thats not over busy. May have a wander around to stretch our legs. Hope you all keep well Brian

Just have to wait and see, but in Scotland I think it will be extended somewhat like my hair and my nails In spite of recommendations are chewed back to my elbows..

It will be sooooo annoying for us if after our withdrawal from friends, Neighbours, family and grandchildren to find out that due to the irresponsibility of the few, the virus is still hitting us as a society.

Not to worry there is always books, telly and the comic antics of the Tory elite to keep us amused....

I have had another letter telling me to shield until 30 June. This is longer than initial 12 weeks. I would be very surprised if didn’t get further letters telling me to shield for longer.

I am having a tooth removed. I am on blood thinners which means I bleed easily. I have severe brochiectasis with postural drainage three times a day. How can I avoid rinsing, etc for 24 hours when I need to do my drainage? Any ideas?

Hi skipwork ,

I think you would get some good replies if you wrote a new post. You'd have a wider audience. xx 🙋

Won't you need to stop taking the blood thinners a certain amount of days before yoyr surgery. Hopefully your doctor has advised you of this? I know that wasn't your question. Wishing you all the best.

Discuss with both your doctor and dentist.

I think it will be a case of individual choice. It could be a long time before a vaccine is available. I would love nothing better than to go out for a meal somewhere with family and friends, but have accepted it's not happening anytime soon.

Today I received a letter from respiratory dept of local hospital ,dated end of April advising me to self isolate(had already received 2 other letters for extremely vulnerable etc etc) better late than never I guess.

I am lucky enough to work very part time in an office ,if the shielding protocol is extended think I will lose my job like many others. Mentally wouldn't be able to cope with a much longer extension to the shielding already in place.....

Don’t know. I’m worried because I don’t feel safe going back to work with the risk still there. On the other hand I feel so guilty not being at work! I don’t think WE will feel safe until the vaccine if we haven’t caught it by then.

Please do not rush back to work Kristicats if that is possible. There is so much we don't know going on in the background. Keep yourself as safe as possible. No-one can fault you for looking after yourself. xx 👋

Thank you, I know that makes sense and will try to keep safe. Trouble is though when you share home with someone who will be ‘going back to normal’ ASAP Cx

So after reading the above I am now thinking September is a possibility :D oh happy days - just in time to get some outings before the next long haul of winter.
