Hello TLC,👋

I never had pain in my neck when I had pleurisy. Maybe others have. But I do remember not being comfortable when trying to sleep (due to pain) which caused me to end up sleeping in a funny position. This did make my shoulders quite stiff. And my back sore. Hmmm......

I hope you feel better soon. I know it's very draining.

I had pleurisy symptoms about 5 weeks ago.

It’s sort of cleared up,bu I keep getting random aches and pains, seems to be taking a lot of getting over.

Also have a bad back, which has flared due to lack of exercis

Can’t go to the gym or the physio, which is how I usually manage my creaky back.so keep doing my exercises and going for a social distanced walk.

I have noticed quite a few posts on here, regarding peopl having pleurisy, which is taking ages to settle.

Has any one else had experience of this?

Hi tlc22

I don't know if neck pain occurs as a result from pleurisy but I have just looked back at another post where you mention you have had the virus?

I have never been tested for covid19 and neither has another friend of mine but we both were very ill back in January this year. My symptoms were typical of the virus started with *fever and dry cough which lasted a long time nearly 2 months after infection cleared. My friends started with sore throat, very bad head pain and a dry cough which also lasted 2 months.

The reason I am mentioning this is because we both have had this neck pain which comes and goes even now - 3 months later!

The pain experienced is intermittent along the occipital bone and axis where neck joins the scull. I am wondering if your neck pain is in the same area?

*we were ill before we knew of the coronavirus symptoms.

Hi Bkin my neck pain is at the back but also gravitates up to my chin. I have been unwell since mid March possibly covid but not tested. Really fed up with it. I’ve noticed a few posts about pleurisy too..

Hi tlc22,

I am currently 3 weeks into 'pleurisy' but my symptoms seem different to how other people describe it, in that the pain seems to move about my chest (both sides but mostly cenral), and back. Not yet had neck pain.

I havnt been tested for covid even on A&E visit.
