Hi Folks! I am a new member finding my way round here. I was diagnosed with COPD with Asthma a year and a half ago. I gave up smoking straight away thank goodness so havenβt degenerated too much since. Iβm scared of this virus though as donβt think my lungs could survive it. Plus Iβm the wrong side of 60. Positive side is I do have a good sense of humour which is a medicine in itself at times. ππ

Hello and welcome π
Nice to meet you .
Like the name -are you a heavy metal fan or do you just like the colour?
Youβve done well to give up smoking. Try to eat a good nutritious diet and get as much exercise as you can. Not easy at the moment!
Take care
X
Welcome to you. Iβm carer for my husband Pete who has sarcoidosis and COPD. Heβs had the sarc for 28 years and COPD for 10. Heβs doing well but like you this virus would most likely kill him.
Glad you have a sense of humour, it certainly helps.
Stay safe xxxx

Welcome. I am also on the wrong side (of 60) and have emphysema and asthma. Lots of good info and people on this site.
Welcome. Joining this site was the best thing I did after diagnosis with COPD and asthma around my 60th birthday five years ago. What a lot I learned from the experience and wisdom of others on this site, and I'm sure you will too.
Welcome to the site . Sure once you settle in you will love our group. Be careful with all this coronavirus around, not good for us more mature COPD/Asthma sufferers. That's good you gave up smoking . Speak again soon.

Hi Deep Purple
Welcome and I`m like you Asthma and COPD. It`s Great!! on here to use the words of the great Tony the tiger Lol.
In response to your fear of Covid 19 just think with what`s happening out there of ALL the positives to come out of the present situation.
A whole world working together ..pollution down atmosphere much cleaner for us ...co - operation and PMA up. Family finally recognised as the single most important thing in the world.
New developments happening at a much accelerated rate due to the world wide consultation and information sharing. A.I. being used to predict and hopefully find answers to Covid 19.
The best advice is to keep your chin up...try not to worry and stay safe stay healthy ...and above all....as my mum used to say if you don`t know..........just ask
Phil

Hi & welcome,
Unfortunately a sense of humour is a worthwhile asset it won't defeat this current virus but it may help you thro'. Realistically it's a beast, but good news is on the horizon with a possible vaccine maybe approved by the back end of the year if it works. Welcome news.
Keep safe & well, which added to your sense of humour should see you OK. Wear a mask keep away from crowds and observe the distance thing.
