Room for optimism?

This is interesting - the inventor will be trialing these innovative and low cost tests alongside the current conventional tests in order to test their accuracy. So hopefully they will be available through the NHS asap.

And he intends to plough any profits back into research - creativity and altruism in one package, pretty rare.

If he is correct and can produce a simple test costing £2 that would make a real difference and save lives. People can be so creative. I saw 2 young Italians on the news who have shown how to make a ventilator using a diving mask and tube. Their video on YouTube has been downloaded numerous times all over the world and medical staff have used the model when no ventilators were available. Amazing people who just want to help others and so modest.

This looks brilliant O2 , lets hope they dont delay in getting this out to the public, without the usual delays, thanks for posting it gives a little hope x

If this is true, and it's a very big if, the test relies on taking a swab. As I understand it there is an acute shortage of swabs in the UK....one of the many reasons ( apart from government incompetence) why so few tests are being done. This despite the PM announcing that testing is of paramount importance.

👍😀
