Sourdough Bread.

Sourdough bread is easy to make although it takes longer to make. It is tasty, it keeps for longer and you do not have to have to use any yeast. In these days of empty shelves you are more likely to find flour than you are bread. With self isolation it will also give you something to occupy yourself with. You will also fill your house with the gorgeous smell of fresh baked bread. There are many sites telling you just how to bake the bread. We have a bread machine which takes out all the hard work of kneading the dough, so no need to get breathless. The link below tells you how to make the starter mix:

At the moment I can't get any flour but will have a go when I do. 😊

I tried to buy a bread making machine but they were sold out. Somebodies probably got a house full of bread making machines. 🙄

I thought of it but decided I couldn’t be bothered. At the beginning I also toyed with the idea of buying another small freezer, as mine’s tiny. But I couldn’t decide where to put it, so as usual with me, apathy won the day 😊

I bought a new fridge last week and found that most of the new ones don't have freezer sections to them like my old one did. (That went to the tip for recycling.) Thinking I would miss that extra freezer space reminded me that I had an old freezer in my garage. I bought a new one when I didn't know how to defrost it when the whole thing froze solid. Steam cleaned it out, fired it up, and off it went. I'm thinking that ready meals might get difficult to get in future so will ask my shopper to visit my local butcher for me. 😉😊

I was just looking on you tube for easy bread making. I was looking for success with spelt flour and coconut flour as need lower carb bread.

I wonder if it will work with spelt flour, I will give it a go. Thanks 2 greys

I was just checking the cupboard and found a small amount of mixed grain bread flour mix.

Irish soda bread is quick to make .....when flour is back in . No real kneading required.

I use half whole meal, half white, bicarb and milk which is soured with a bit of vinegar or lemon juice . It doesn’t keep well, and loaves are small, but I slice and freeze .

Recipes on the internet or you tube.

Scones easy to make too.

the little shop we have gave us a choice of a pack of 6 white bread buns which we get every Saturday or a small white loaf 🍞 🤔

Ok my Kilner jar arrived from amazon, I've left it before opening the package for 4 days as inside cardboard box was paper and plastic bubble wrap around the jar.

I've just washed the jar and now I am about to make the starter for the bread. (Cultivate your own wild yeast starter)

the video won't post so here is the link in brackets. Just remove the bracket each end of the link to go to the you tube video.
